We walk through the corridors with our guns in our hands. "Bellamy, we need to split up, you go free all the Grounders and I'll take care of Jasper, Maya and the others." As much as I hate to part with him, it's the only way, since Jasper and six others have been found in their hideout. Ed is the only way to do both at the same time. His face is all tense and even though he knows it's better this way, he's reluctant to let me out of his sight. "Fine." I nod and kiss him before running in a different direction.

I crawl into one of the air shafts and wait inside until two guards arrive with my men. Before I can shoot at them, Maya's father stands in front of them. "Dad?" I watch everything from the shaft and aim my gun at the guard.
"Out of the way, Vincent." "That's my daughter." "She's been aiding and abetting the Outsiders. You need to get out of our way." "I won't let you take her, Paul. If you wanna take her, you gotta go through me." Paul takes his gun and points it at him. "Donumake me do this, Vincent." "Im sorry, Paul." Before he can fire, I shoot Paul perfectly between the eyes. I kick the bars away and shoot the other guard in the head too.
I take the bowl for the handcuffs and free them before setting off again. "I'm going to level three to Monty and the others." "I'm coming with you." I look at Jasper and shake my head. "I promised I'd protect them, that's exactly what I'm gonna do." "Okey, let's go."
Maya follows us and the three of us go to level three. A warning is given that everyone should meet on level 5. "Jasper, in 30 minutes all backup power gets diverted for species continuty. That means level 5 for life support and security. Radiation will seep in everywhere else. I can't go to Level 5 without beeing shot in the head." "We'll get you your hazmat suit. Extra oxygen. Enough to last until you engineers get power on." "Then what? Think Cage Wallace is gonna let me live here after that?" "Then we kill him."
I nod to Jasper and keep walking because we've heard a gunshot. Maya runs to the woman lying dead on the floor around the corner. "That's Ms Ryan. She hide the last 12."
Slowly a door opens and I pull my gun on Monty. Monty? He walks out cautiously and looks down at Ms Ryan. "Monty whats wrong?" "They know about the Grounders." "What do you mean they know about the Grounders?" "It's on a soldier's walkie. They're going for the Harvest Chamber." "If they take it, they'll lose everyone."
We immediately run to the Harvest Chamber, but when we get there all the Grounders are gone. All the cages are empty. The only one inside is Maya's dead father. Maya starts crying and falls to the floor as Bellamy runs in behind us. He runs to me and looks round. "Bellamy, they're gone. We've lost." I can hear his heart pounding with excitement. We've lost them.
