The feast was even more fabulous than the start of the year banquet. More enjoyable than the food, Bambi thought, were the wizard crackers that went off with a blast like cannons, engulfing the whole lot of them in a giant cloud of blue smoke. They laughed at the dancing mice, weird hats, and especially hard when Percy nearly broke a tooth on the silver sickle hidden inside his Christmas pudding.

Bambi spent the afternoon with Harry and the Weasleys having a furious snowball fight on the grounds. Bambi was happy to finally put her new gloves to good use. She supposed that Mrs. Weasley must have used some charm on them because her hands were the only part of her that wasn't freezing by the end.

The group of them now cold, soaking wet, and gasping for breath returned to the warmth of the Gryffindor common room, where they cheered on Harry who was trying to play a game of Wizard's chess against Ron.

"You're doing it wrong, Harry- See, you really want to move the Queen towards-" Percy was set on giving directions to every move Harry played, but he was still losing drastically to a smug-looking Ron.

"Give it a rest, will you, Perce?" Fred shoved Percy out of the way, sitting in the spot where he had been calling out moves.

This interaction must have started some sort of feud again between the brothers because Bambi, Harry, and Ron then sat relaxed around the fire that evening watching Percy chase Fred and George all around Gryffindor Tower because they'd stolen his prefect badge.

"Psst- Bambi."

Bambi opened her eyes. She had fallen asleep on the couch. The only movement in the room was the flames crackling in the fireplace.

"Bambi!" They whispered, in a slightly louder and more aggressive whisper.

She blinked, sitting up, "What now?" She snapped, a bit annoyed at them waking her.

Fred and George were standing over her wearing their pajamas, one holding a piece of parchment tight in his hands.

"Want to go see something cool we just found?" In the dim light, she could see their mischievous smiles.

"Will it get me in trouble?" Bambi raised an eyebrow, sitting up straight again.

"Maybe, but only if we get caught," George said smugly.

"And how can you be so sure that we won't get caught?"

"Well we need you to promise something first," Fred said, looking around the room to make sure it was completely empty. "You promise not to go run off to McGonagall if we show you?"

"Depends on what it is- Now are you gonna tell me what you two are up to or not?" She looked between the two.

"Promise!" Fred crossed his arms.

"Alright, alright, I promise!" Bambi gave him an impatient look.

Fred nodded at George who handed her the piece of parchment.

Bambi stared at them. "A... blank piece of parchment, thanks guys. I'm going to bed now." She stood, about ready to head back to her dorm, but she was caught by the arm and pulled back over by Fred.

"I solemnly swear I'm up to no good." Said George quietly to the blank piece of paper.

It sprung to life, a map appearing before their very eyes.

"What is that?" Bambi turned, a curious sparkle appearing in her eyes as she followed the tiny labeled dots. A few things were starting to come together in her mind now. "Oh..." She thought back to their trip to Hogsmead, they had promised to bring the map.
