14- unFATHOMable knowledge

Fathom was nervous as he stood in the line with his coconut, Albatross and Queen Lagoon were talking to Gradient, Fathom found him quite strange as he was one of the first hybrids he had ever met. Fathom couldn't hear everything they were saying but by the time they had finished Gradient started walking around inspecting everyone in the line as the held their coconuts.

Fathom jumped slightly as Gradient stopped right in front of him and with a voice as calm as a lake said, "Fathom, I need you to look down at the coconut in your talons and command it to fly toward that tree." There was a moment of shock and hesitation as Gradient looked down at him, Fathom then said, "I... I command this coconut to fly towards that tree." Much to Fathom and everyone's shock, the coconut quickly obeyed, flying directly into the tree.

Fathom looked up at Gradient who smiled and said, "Wonder job, you're a natural already, now I suggest you go along with Albatross for now, I suspect you're the only other animus here, so this should be quickly." Gradient seemed confident yet calming as if trying to assure Fathom that despite his powers he wasn't alone.

Fathom nervously went over to Queen Lagoon and Albatross, they both looked impressed as Lagoon then said, "So, Gradient could tell the difference between an animus and non-animus dragons, he could be of much use." Albatross cut in, "He says he has has something to teach animus dragons, if what he has is so important, why not simply tell us all?"

Fathom was slightly confused by what was happening, but soon Gradient was approaching, he bowed slightly before Queen Lagoon before saying, "Fathom appears to be the only animus you have in that line." Lagoon nodded and said, "Very well, now I suppose you'll want to tell them what you need." Gradient nodded and said, "Well, I have some information about animus magic." Fathom is ears perched as he waited.

Gradient then said, "Well, animus magic actually can corrupt dragons if used wrong or selfishly, and of course, evil dragons will use their powers for evil." Albatross and Fathom were quite surprised by this, Fathom had thought animus magic was just some power that had no consequences.
