Gradient had quickly settled in to his new position at the palace, it was nice, although Vigilance was a bit paranoid at times. Gradient had quickly caught up to the scheduling of the palace as it was slightly different from how he did things as it seemed the busiest times were at night in the palace.
Suddenly, Gradient realized he zoned out and accidentally started painting Vigilance with whites instead of dark colors, he panicked thinking he ruined the painting until he saw how he could fix it. Gradient quickly mixed the white paint and painted until it looked as if Vigilance was holding a moon in her talon.
The sight of the painting nearly finished made Gradient smiled but it was missing something, he quickly realized what it was, Vigilance's terrifyingly yet beautiful glare. Gradient was quick to fix the eyes into a small glare making her look as if she were staring down at whichever dragon looked at the painting.
As the painting dried Gradient decided to fix himself up, he cleaned under his scales and made his fur look nice while also cleaning off his glasses. By the time Gradient had finished the painting was finished, so he quickly went to see the queen, but before that he put on a bit of jewelry in the hopes it would make him look better.
He quickly bowed before Queen Vigilance, "H-Hey Queen Vigilance, I h-have a n-new painting ready f-for you." Gradient nervously said showing the painting, Vigilance quickly dismissed her foreseer council before stepping off her throne to get a closer look at the painting. Vigilance took the painting from Gradient's talon, his heart nearly skipping a beat as her talon touched his, she then stared at it, her expression unreadable.
"Impressive, you made me looks threatening yet beautiful, I must say you have a talent for catching the best details of a queen, Gradient." Vigilance said with a small smile, Gradient was blushing bright blue at this moment, "Um... Th-Thank you, Queen Vigilance!" Gradient nervously said.
Vigilance placed the painting by her throne, "Oh, before I forget, Gradient, I am having more kingdoms come here for talks so I will need all the guest room we have." Vigilance said with a serious tone before continuing, "But I can't allow anyone just sleep on the floor so for the next few days you will be sleeping in my room as it is the only room with enough space and I can not allow another royal by me in my chambers."
Gradient was bright blue as he nodded and said, "Um... Y-Yes, Queen Vigilance." Vigilance looked down at Gradient and said, "Good, oh and before you go move your stuff I must say, I love the new look, you look quite... Valuable~" She said the last part as if she were flirting and it worked as Gradient was blushing even brighter as he left, he was definitely gonna start trying to look like this everyday.
