4. Avantika saved Advait

When Avantika turned back to see Payal coming toward her, she was scared. Payal, Mehwish and Naina, all three of them are like the mean girls of the college.

“I heard you calling my name,” Payal said, then looked at Aditi too.

“No, I was talking about some other Payal, Payal Kapoor, not you,”

Avantika replied, hoping she would accept the lie.

“Oh, is it that’s so? Is she telling the truth, Aditi?” Payal asked her cousin.

“Yes, she is. It’s some other girl, not you.” Aditi replied.

“In that case, have good times, kiddos,” Payal said and left with her friends.

They waited for them to go, then Avantika made faces and imitated Payal, “Kiddo, Kiddo, yeah, we are kiddo, then what are you, a b*tch?”

“Let’s stop giving our energy to them,” Rishabh said.

“It’s easy for you to say but she rejected me because she doesn’t like
me,” Avantika said.

“I never knew you were obsessed with dancing,” He replied. He doesn’t know she’s obsessed with something else.

“No, but I did want to perform something on stage,” Avantika said.

“Would you be okay if you can perform in drama?” Rishabh asked.

“Yes, I would love to,” Avantika said with excitement.

“Sure, I will see what I can do,” He said.

“But what will you do? Are you friends with any of those guys from elite
group?” Aditi asked.

“I am not but aren’t you?” He asked her.

“You mean with Arjun?”

“Yes, he’s the one auditioning for drama performances. Either him or Advait, so I was thinking of convincing you on behalf of Avantika,” Rishabh said.

Avantika was really grateful, “you are the best, Rishabh.”

“But I cannot do it.” Aditi said.

“Why not?” Avantika asked.

“I don’t want any favor from those guys,” Aditi replied.

“Just this one, please?” Avantika made a puppy face.

“I will think about it but don’t be mad if I say no,” Aditi said.

“Sure, but do say yes, for me.” Avantika replied.

Aditi nodded but didn’t say anything further.

They attended a class, bunked others and then they went home. Her father was fine today and they ate dinner together. She slept like a baby and the next day, she got a text from Aditi, “I have talked to Arjun, he will select you for something.”

Avantika really wanted this to work and she got ready, dressed in a cute way, did some make up on her face and she reached the hall where they were auditioning for the drama/play act. She was confident but as soon as she entered and saw that Naina was one of the judge, she cursed her luck.

She’s one of them. She’s one of the mean girl. She’s the b*tch. She will not accept. But she decided to give it a shot. One guy gave her lines from Shakespeare and when it was her turn, she did read them but with bare minimum efforts. She knew she won’t get selected and it
doesn’t even matter anymore to her.

Leaving the hall after done with it, she was wandering around, thinking about Advait and how she had been in love with him so intensely and nothing has happened. Maybe she needs to move on.

She didn’t realize while walking that she was walking toward the guy’s
hostel. When she realized, she got embarrassed and found her way
back, looking at her phone, pretending that she is not acknowledging all
the stares at her. It was awful until one of the guy said, “Hey, kamli girl,
what are you doing here?”

She turned back and it was Advait.

“I…I got lost,” She said, telling the truth but it seemed like he didn’t
believe her.

“That’s okay, you should go,” He said.
Just then, there was a huge uproar.

Almost 7-8 guys came out of hostel
entrance, almost running, with sticks and bats in their hands, and from
the other side, Advait and Mohit and few other guys with them seemed
prepared to fight against them even though they didn’t have any sticks,
bats or anything.

She ran away a little but from there she began to watch the fight as she
was afraid too. All of it happened so fast that for a moment she lost
Advait and her eyes found him and saw him whacking a guy brutally.
Advait was smashing the other man’s face, hurting him, destroying him,
breaking him. It was violent. Then she saw someone with a bat about to
hit Advait from behind, she screamed, “Advait, look behind.”

He did, and saved himself from the blow, but attack that guy on his chest with a heavy fist. The fight continued.

It scared Avantika so much that after that she ran away, she can’t even imagine what would have had happened if that Advait was attacked by that bat, he could be hospitalized. The thought of it made it cry and she couldn’t stop thinking about it.

On the ground, the fight continued until the other side was destroyed and Advait came out as the alpha.

As soon as it was over, Advait was desperately looking around to find the girl who saved him but she was no longer there.
