Avantika had no desire to sit with Advait and Payal. But she didn't have the courage to say no to them.
In the big library, they were sitting in a slight corner, a little far from the entrance. Avantika went and sat beside them, facing both Advait and Payal. She felt all tied up psychologically, her body and legs not being able to move, and no words coming out of her mind.
In that moment, she remembered Advait's reward and punishment, how she saw him naked and how horny she was but she also remembered how Payal has been a big bitch to her and always an enemy to her.
"So, congratulations Avantika, you are selected in the dance performance," Payal said, but in a low voice.
Advait was just reading something, it was some book on Economics, not academic but something like those intellectual people read to sound intelligent.
"Thank you," Avantika replied in a low voice, maintaining the rules and regulations of the Library.
"So, do you wish to do solo performance or a couple performance or are you okay with a group performance?" Payal asked, and her voice sounded so sweet suddenly. Just like the sound of a sweet girl who lean against pink pillow in the night and has nothing but love and cheerfulness for everything .
But Avantika won't get manipulated or deceived by it. She knows this girl cannot be trusted.
"I am fine with solo and couples dance performance, group one isn't my deal," Avantika replied.
"Good. Then I will select a guy for you," Payal said.
But just then, Advait looked up and said, "No, I think she would do better as a solo performance. There's so much she can express through her body, and let it be all about her."
Avantika felt goosebumps and butterflies in her stomach. Is he getting jealous? Is that's why he is saying that? She doesn't know and cannot know at the moment but it felt nice if that's what he is feeling.
Payal was about to say something but Avantika replied, "Maybe he's right."
For a moment, everything seemed different and new. Avantika always wanted to do one thing and this seems like the best opportunity to try that. She rose up from the seat and leaned forward a little towards Advait and said to him, "By the way, Advait, I need to talk to you about the other day. Meet me later."
And then she left.
Before leaving she made sure to look at the facial expressions of Payal and she felt victorious.
She walked out of the library and she could hear Advait walking behind her. Seems like he can't wait for later.
Outside the library, he made her stop walking and even though there were other students here and there, he grabbed her by the arm and made her stand closer to him.
"What did you want to talk about?" Advait asked.
Her breathing was heavy, it felt like she was holding up her breath even though her mind and heart was focused in the eyes of Advait.
"I just wanted to tell you that you cannot control me," She replied. It was...weird. In her fantasy, she does want him to control her but at the current moment, she wanted to show him that she isn't easy, she wants him to know that to control her he must show her that he's worthy to do that.
"I don't know if I want to control you or not. The other day, it didn't go well and I am sorry for that. But I want to say something to you. That day when you saved me, I could sense a certain kind of fear in your voice. It was as if you was scared of me getting hurt. It felt like you cared for me. I want to just directly ask you this, do you care for me or was you scared of the idea of me getting hurt?" He asked. He wanted to know the truth about it since forever and now he just asked it.
But Avantika didn't know how to answer it. Should she tell the truth? Or not? She was afraid to tell the truth but she also wanted him to know the truth because she does think that he's lucky that there's someone in his life who cares for him more than anything. Isn't he lucky in that way?
"I don't know," she said and got out of his grip, and even though she didn't want the moment to end between her and him, it was all so overwhelming that she couldn't control and just left the place.
