25. The mystery

Chapter-25

(Avantika)

The next day Avantika went to stay at Aditi's house after college. She narrated the entire story.

"The lady told me the entire thing. During the times of the riots, some goons were trying to force them to sell the house at a very cheap price. They didn't want to. But when the riots started, the goons were threatening with death threats and even rape. That's when Advait gave them a gun but also stayed there at night to keep them safe. Once riots were over, Advait made sure to put those goons in jail. That's what happened. He supplies gun to them, not to the rioters. In fact, the entire story has nothing to do with riots or rioters except the fact that those goons wanted to take opportunity of riots to threaten them," Avantika told Aditi.

"Then it means Arjun lied to me. But why would he lie about that? Isn't he the best friend of Advait? They are always together," Aditi said.

"That's what I want to find out, why would Arjun lie about it? I am getting really negative vibes from it all. There's something wrong going on and Advait needs to be aware about it but I can't tell him anything without proof. He's already pissed at me, don't want him to be more pissed if I talk against his friend," Avantika said.

"Don't worry, we will find the truth behind it, but this time, in a safe way," Aditi said.

"Yeah, that we will have to," Avantika said.

After some times, they spent the time watching some serial and then sleeping. Aditi slept fine but Avantika couldn't. She was thinking about Advait. She was missing him so badly but she respected the break he desired and decided not to text or call him.

(Advait)

Advait spent the next days in solitude. He didn't go to the college and he was staying at the house of uncle, the one where Aditi is his neighbour, the same house where he was taking the shower and it was Avantika who was spying on his naked body.

The memory of it turned him on but he was still pissed at her. How could she not trust him? He told her what she needed to know, yet she needed other ways to confirm the truth?

At the same time, there's another thing going on in his mind. His uncle has given him and ultimatum - to join party within 2 months and get fully active in politics to become his heir or he will find someone else to be his heir.

Advait isn't sure about this proposal. He doesn't want to join politics. He does enjoy the power that Politics gives but he is more inclined towards business.

At the same time, his father is also forcing him to stay away from his uncle.

Amidst all these things, he again come back to think about Avantika - how beautiful she is, how silly she is, how she saved him, how she loves him, how she behaves in front of him - all of that.

He was sitting on the couch, thinking about Avantika, when he got a call. For a second, he thought it was Avantika but it was Arjun.

He picked it up, "Hey, what's up?"

Arjun - "all good, man. Can you do me a favor?"

Advait - "yes, of course, just ask for it."

Arjun - "can you praise me in front of your Uncle? He is considering me for a part time job at his party office, I really want that. Can you put in some nice words?"

Advait - "Why not, I will do that right away."

Arjun - "Thanks, man"

Advait - "No worries."

Arjun - "Take care, man."

Advait - "Take care, buddy.

Right after the call, Advait called his uncle and praised Arjun telling his uncle that Arjun is a hard working man and would be the right fit for whatever job he is applying for.

His uncle noted and then told him that he will talk later in detail as he is in a party meeting.

After two calls, it felt illegal to not call Avantika, so he wanted to call her too but decided to give it a rest for a while. At the same time, he wondered what if she's  staying at Aditi's house?

In any case, this separation period is giving more anxiety than solitude.

"I think I miss her," He said to himself.
