Chp 3

Beomgyu walked back to his village with the buckets on his chest. He walked slowly, scanning the beauty of Incheon. The golden dust on the ocean sparkled, mirroring the magnificent ethereal beauty of the yellow with orange hue sky. The wind brushed his red hair softly, and its cold breeze made him feel calm and peaceful.

I'm going to miss this place if I stay in Gangnam...

"WHAT?! Isn't this too sudden? You're leaving TOMORROW?! YAHHH CHOI BEOMGYU! You're not pranking us, right?"

Beomgyu chuckled at Ryujin's dramatic reaction. They were at the stream, passing the time, and he had just told them about his departure for Gangnam.

"I'm telling the truth, Ryu!" he puff out, playing the water with his feet.

Beomgyu hadn't mentioned to them that Mr. Dongmin decided not to forcefully evict them from the island in exchange for his agreement to become Taehyun's nanny. It was enough for them to think that Mr. Dongmin had simply changed his mind about their island.

"Yah! Beomie, what if that Kang guy does something bad to you?" Eunseok said with concern, putting his hand on the stream.

"I don't think so. I already know the person I'll be taking care of. I also promised my grandma that if I'm mistreated or harmed, I'll come back to the island immediately." Beomgyu make tight smile.

A brief silence settled among them before Ryujin moved closer and hugged him tightly.

"Just don't forget to visit us. Do well in your studies there. And don't forget about us, okay...?" Ryujin said, her voice filled with emotion.

Beomgyu cutely nodded, returning the hug.
"Of course, I won't Ryu... Just don't be a brat!" he smacked his friend's head playfully.

"Yaaahh! How dare you?! I'm a good girl! You see I'm cleaning the shore this morning!!!"

Eunseok just laughed at their crazy bickering.

"C-Can we visit you there, Beom?" Eunseok hesitantly asked, adverting his gaze at the two.

Beomgyu sweetly smiled, putting his arm around him. "Of course, Eunie... Don't worry about it!"

Eunseok make a faint smile, nodding his head. Beomgyu tightly side hugging him while the girl jump up playfully, to make a trio hug. After spending some time by the stream, they decided to head home.

It was getting late.

Beomgyu watched the setting sun. In truth, he was afraid of the unfamiliar place he was heading to. A lot of 'what ifs' were running through his mind. He had only seen Gangnam on TV, watching kdramas, and in newspapers.

Beomgyu would do everything he could for his grandmother. It was also good that he could help the people in his village. They no longer had to worry about where to start anew.

"My dear, take care there, okay?"

Beomgyu couldn't help but cry as he said goodbye to his grandmother and friends. Today was the day he was leaving. Mr. Dongmin had already sent his men to pick him up.

"Y-Yes, Grandma... Uhm... You too. Ryu, Eunie, please look after Grandma for me, okay...?" he reminded his friends.

"Of course, j-just don't forget us, okay?" Ryujin said to him, also crying. "I'M GONNA PUNCH YOU IF YOU LOST YOUR MEMORIES ABOUT US!!!"

Beomgyu hugged his friend. After saying goodbye to everyone, he boarded a yacht. They would dock in the town of Incheon first to get to a private van that would take them to Gangnam District.
