Chp 14

Taehyun had just finished his EMDR therapy when Dr. Sehun ushered him into a private room. Beomgyu immediately approached the younger and gently helped him sit up.

"Are you okay, Hyun?" he asked with concern, noticing the younger massaging his temples.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little headache..." Taehyun whispered out.

Beomgyu had been with the younger during most of his EMDR therapy sessions, so he was accustomed to seeing him experience headaches afterward. Dr. Sehun had told them it was normal.

"Take a rest here for a while before we leave. I'll call a nurse to assist you if you need anything. I need to attend to something quickly, I'll be right back." Dr. Sehun informed them before leaving.

Beomgyu handed Taehyun a bottled water. After he took a sip,  the younger hugged his waist, resting his head against Beomgyu's neck. Taehyun's eyes gently closed, and Beomgyu could hear his deep breathing, heavy with relief.

"I... I saw some flashes, Beomgyu-hyung, flashes about my past..." Taehyun murmured, his voice startling Beomgyu with its deep, raspy tone.

"Hyunie..."

"I-It's so scary, those assholes who killed our p-parents, those m-monsters who abducted us, I was so s-scared, Beomgyu-hyung..."

"Shhh, don't think about that right now. It's over, okay? Don't dwell on anything, just rest." Beomgyu reassured him.

Dr. Sehun had advised them that it was normal for Taehyun to experience triggers during his therapy sessions. That's why he needed someone to support him through the emotional effects of the therapy.

But throughout all his sessions, Taehyun's voice had never changed, however, now. It was the kind of voice that matched his age and stature.

Taehyun fell asleep beside him, and at that moment, Dr. Sehun returned to the room followed by a male nurse. They helped lay Taehyun down on the bed.

"May I introduce you to my assistant, Huening Kai, a fresh graduate nurse. He will assist you whenever you need help, okay? Feel free to reach out to him. We never know what might happen in the future."

"Hello, sir! Nice to meet you!" Kai beamed, extending his hand.

Beomgyu smiled widely at such angelic features and accepted the handshake. "Hi, I'm Choi Beomgyu. Don't be too formal, uhm... we can be friends if you want!" he chuckled as the young male widened his eyes.

Kai glanced at Dr. Sehun, waiting for a cue. The doctor just patted his head before walking to the other side to retrieve a paper from the shelf.

"Then, we're friends now! How old are you?" Kai asked eagerly.

"Hmm, I think I'm older than you...?" Beomgyu pondered, rubbing his chin.

"You look young thou~ I'm 21!" Kai said, wiggling his eyebrows.

"Hahaha! I told you, I'm older than you!"

"Then I'll call you Hyung! So, Beomgyu-hyung... is that boy your boyfriend?" Kai smirked.

Beomgyu felt embarrassed by the younger male's question, he gulped and shyly nodded, causing Kai to squirm in flushed.

"Huening Kai, don't be noisy. The patient is near you two." Sehun spoke while reading the files.

"S-Sorry, Doctor Oh!" Kai apologized, scratching his head.

"You're so cute, Kaiyah~" Beomgyu mused, appreciating the young man's shining presence. "Uhm... Doctor Oh, can I talk to you?" he lowered his voice so he can't disturb Taehyun, who was peacefully sleeping.
