Chp 11

Aroha Resort was beyond a beautiful paradise. Beomgyu couldn't help but be amazed as he gawked around upon their arrival. It was like a little paradise, perhaps even more beautiful than the island he grew up on. The fine white sand on the shore kissed the deep blue sea. There were also many trees and exotic plants around. He could hear the birds chirping as they followed the path into the thicket. Beomgyu thought there might be other animals there too.

They used a private plane to arrive on the island to avoid disturbing the animals. He was even more amazed when they reached the resthouse where they would be staying temporarily.

According to Taehyun, the entire island resort had a caretaker to look after the surroundings. Jisoo told him that the island was named after the Kang siblings' parents.

The next day, Beomgyu, Haerin, and Jisoo decided to go swimming in the sea. They said it would be a waste of their vacation if they didn't swim, and they had a point, so he eventually agreed.

Beomgyu glanced at the younger, who was in a nearby hut with his brothers and Aunt Soule. He had a serious expression on his face as he stared at him. Beomgyu smiled at the younger, but Taehyun just glared back.

He couldn't help but to giggle at the sulking cute kitty.

Taehyun was super upset because the older only wore a shorts that was given by Jungkook. He told the older it was too revealing and wanted the male to wear a rash guard instead.

So, even while they were swimming in the sea, having fun splashing each other, Taehyun keep ignoring the ecstatic older.

Time passed by, it seemed that the younger couldn't bear to ignore Beomgyu, and by lunchtime, Taehyun was being affectionate clingy again. The older just laughed as Taehyun insisted on feeding him. He made sure Beomgyu ate well.

When they returned to the resthouse, Beomgyu joined Taehyun for a rest. He fell asleep quickly, probably exhausted from swimming in the sea. They came down again in the afternoon.

"Thank you, Beomgyu." Dongmin said when he found an opportunity to speak the younger male alone. They were watching the others play UNO cards on the floor.

Beomgyu looked at the older, waiting for his next words.

"My baby brother is so lucky to have you in his life. And I'm happy you came into my brother's life. He loves you so much despite his condition." he added.

A smile formed on Beomgyu's lips as he stared at Taehyun. "I-I love him too, h-hyung..." he said, his heart beating fast on his chest.

"Do you want to know why Taehyun is like that? Why he developed that kind of disorder in his system?" Dongmin announced, drinking a rich wine.

Beomgyu didn't answer immediately, then hesitantly nodded at him. Dongmin subtly smiled, putting down the wine glass on the counter beside him.

"We were still so young at that time... Our parents were ambushed by unknown armed men. On that fateful day, they abducted us siblings and took us to another country, where we were subjected to slavery-like conditions. We endured physical and mental torture during our captivity. When we were finally rescued, the trauma we experienced led us to be admitted to a psychiatric ward... I deeply hoped that once we were discharged from the psychiatric ward, things would improve. However, I was mistaken. The experience had varying effects on each of us, particularly impacting Taehyun and Haerin deeply."

Beomgyu covered his mouth with his hand, he's too shocked to believe everything by what he learned. He didn't know the Kang siblings had gone through such a heavy ordeal.

"Taehyun was only seven years old at that time, and Haerin was just three. They were still very young and in need of careful guidance, like any child would. When I met Jisoo, I felt incredibly fortunate because she helped Haerin return to a normal life, allowing her to experience the childhood like other kids her age. This happened when Haerin was twelve years old."
