Chp 6

"Ryu? Eunie? You two are real, right?!" Beomgyu exclaimed in disbelief as he saw his two best friends waiting for him in the mansion's living room.

"Dzuhhh~ We're just figments of your imagination." Ryujin sassily crosses her legs, rolling her eyes teasingly.

Beomgyu had left Taehyun, who was engrossed in watching a movie in the entertainment room, after Aunt Soule called him to inform him that he had visitors. Beomgyu never expected it would be Ryujin and Eunseok.

"Ehhh... You're too rude to be here, Puffer fish~"

Ryujin grimace and stood up. "Beomie! We've missed you so much!" she hugged him tightly. Beomgyu couldn't help but to chuckles softly and returned the hug.

"What are you guys doing here?" he asked his friends.

"My eomma sent me to pick up the land title that my aunt sent here in Gangnam. And since Grandma Jung-hee asked us to visit you, we decided to come and see you!" Ryujin explained, ruffling his red hair. "SURPRISE!!!"

"Beom, here, Grandma Jung sent this for you!" Eunseok handed him a box filled with Hoddeok generously topped with maple syrup. Beomgyu's smile grew even wider as he accepted it.

Grandma! Thank you! I really missed eating this!!! The snacks in here are all foreign and expensive.

Beomgyu jumped in happiness and guided his friends to sit down again. "Thank you so much. I really miss grandma, and of course, both of you too. How have you been? How's Incheon?"

"It's still the same Incheon, we used to live in. But did you know? Mr. Kang, the one who bought the island, gave us scholarships to study at a state university in town. He also provided new livelihood opportunities for us! We were surprised because we thought he wasn't that good of a person." Ryujin said, slouching her back at the fluffy couch. Beomgyu was equally surprised at what he heard.

It's true that Taehyun's older brother, Dongmin, is intimidating, but he didn't expect him to be so kind-hearted. They were completely wrong in thinking he was a bad person.

"When will you visit the island, Beomgyu?" Eunseok asked.

"At the end of this month, Eunie... I can't just leave here anytime since there's no one to look after my ward. But I'll have a few things for you to take back to Incheon for grandma, just some necessities she needs. Is it okay?"

"Hai! It's nothing, Beomie. Of course, we can do that for you, especially Eunseok is here." Ryujin said with a laugh, secretly nudging the male beside her.

"Uh, Beom, are you okay here? You're not being mistreated or hurt by your employer, are you?"

Ryujin hit Eunseok on the arm, as if scolding him. "Eunie! You're so negative! Can't you see how kind Mr. Kang to us? Imagine how kind he must be to our Beomie."

"I-I'm just concerned..." Eunseok said defensively, scratching his head. Beomgyu just laughed. He really missed the bickering of his two best friends.

"I'm really fine here, Eunie... Everyone in the mqnsion is so kind to me. Hold on a second, I'll get you something to eat." he stood up and walked towards the kitchen, where he happened to meet Aunt Soule carrying a tray of food and drinks.

"Oh, sweetie, you left your guests over there?" Aunt Soule noted.

"Uhm, I was just going to get some food for them, Auntie. I-Is that alright?"

"Oh, of course. I was about to bring this to you. I know you haven't seen your friends in a long time." she said, handing the tray of food to Beomgyu.

Beomgyu quickly took the tray from the woman, bowing. "T-Thank you so much, it's embarrassing that you had to prepare this, Auntie. I hope I didn't trouble you..."
