Chp 18

"AaaAaahHh... Hyung~"

Beomgyu hastily turned to his friend Jake, who sing sang and looked tired as he leaned back in his chair. They were in the cafeteria, with an hour to spare before their next class.

"What happened to you?" Beomgyu asked, placing his tray of food in front of Jake who's whining.

"I'm so annoyed, Beomie-hyuuunggg~ I won't see him anymore~" Jake replied pouting and then he smirk.

"Huh?"

"It's because of Prof-hotty!! I heard he– resigned... The news is, he's going abroad! Beomie-hyung!!"

Beomgyu chuckled in disbelief for the overly dramatic younger. Jake only called one person Prof-hotty, and that was his crush, Mr. Choi Soobin.

"Hey, aren't you sad? Weren't you two really close?" Jake handsome face scrunched, eating his food.

"Yah! Jake! We’re not really that close." Beomgyu defended. Well, Soobin was kind to him and they talked often because he was frequently assigned tasks, but they weren't really that close.

But a part of him felt a bit sad knowing that he had resigned. He had somehow grown accustomed to the older male.

"By the way, Hyung... are you going to fill out the application for the exchange student program abroad for scholars? It's a great opportunity." Jake asked suddenly.

Beomgyu paused in eating, struck by his friend's question. Kang University had an exchange student program for scholars like him, covering everything from passport application fees to tuition, dormitory, and allowances.

When Beomgyu learned about it, he would be lying if he said he wasn't considering accepting it. Yes, he was doing well at the University, especially since Kang University is one of the South Korea's prestigious schools. However, he was hesitant whenever he thought about Taehyun.

Beomgyu found himself pondering over the thought of being far away from his boyfriend. Playing with his food that's turning cold.

Would Taehyunie agree to it?
Can I handle being away from him?

"Hey, Hyung...? Are you okay? You've been quiet there." Jake interrupted the older's thought while blowing up his hot noodles.

Beomgyu subtly smiled at the younger. "Y-Yeah, I'm okay..." he replied, tightly gripping the chopsticks.

Jake shrugged and they continued eating to prepare for their next class.

After class, Beomgyu walked out of the university. He tried texting Taehyun to ask where he was. Few minutes gone passed he received no reply from the male, he felt disappointed to it.

He walked out of the university gate, playing the pebbles on his way, and smiled when he saw Taehyun's car, but his smile faded when he noticed the younger wasn't with Changbin.

"Where's Taehyunie, Hyung?" Beomgyu asked the older who's in the driver seat as he got into the car.

"He's still at the mansion, caught up in a conversation with Dr. Min, so I came to pick you up instead." Changbin replied, turning the engine.

Beomgyu chose to remain silent, pushing aside the slight sadness he felt. He understood Taehyun's determination to fully recover, which explained why the younger rarely accompanied him to and from the university since they returned from their island trip.

Upon arriving at the mansion, Beomgyu's heart twinged when he saw Taehyun laughing and conversing with Dr. Minjeong. It seemed like the younger was also looking at the Doctor the way he used to look at him. Beomgyu knew it was wrong to feel jealous, but he couldn't help it.
