Abhimanyu was so in awe of her beauty that he kept staring at her with his jaw kissing the ground. It wasn't until Naina shook him lightly that he snapped back to reality. After realising that he had been admiring her a little too much, he rubbed his neck shyly. His ears turned red as he apologised.
Naina giggled, finding it all too adorable. Who would have thought that a strong businessman like Abhimanyu would have such cute reactions upon seeing his wife?
"Y-you look nice." He stuttered as his face turned even a brighter shade of red. Silently, he berated himself for being so awkward and nervous around her.
"Just nice?" Naina asked, pouting. "I thought I looked better than that. Maybe I am not pretty enough." She said, examining her outfit. Deep down, she was just pulling his leg and checking if he was worth staying with forever. She needed to know if he was the right person for her.
"No, you look breathtaking." Abhimanyu complimented, wondering if she felt bad for saying she looked nice.
Maybe she expected a better adjective.
Naina blushed.
"Thank you, Abhimanyu. Shall we go?"
"Of course." He pulled the car door open for her. "After you, m'lady."
"Why, thank you, sir."
Swiftly, she moved inside the car and settled down next to him. Abhimanyu started the car and drove them out of the mansion grounds and into the main road.
"So, where are we heading to?" Naina asked curiously.
"A restaurant for now." He said before adding, "I hope that's okay with you."
"Yeah, it's absolutely okay with me."
For the next 10 minutes, silence ensued as they drove through the busy roads of Mumbai. No matter what, Mumbai had its own charm, which often made Naina swoon over its beauty. The people, the streets, the traffic, the beach, the food, the monuments, and the tall skyscrapers on one side and the slums on the other. The city was just so attractive and lively. Yes, it had its own flaws, but it was still one of the best places ever.
Naina turned to the Abhimanyu. "Can I listen to some music?"
"Of course. It's your car, do whatever you want."
Naina's heart fluttered at his words. She wondered if he actually meant it or not. Naina was about to turn on the car's radio when her phone rang.
It was Aditi.
"Hey, is everything okay?" Naina answered the call.
"Why? Can I just not call you?" Aditi asked with a tone that clearly told her that she was annoyed.
"Adi..."
"Okay, fine. Sorry, I didn't mean to sound rude. I just...got into a fight with someone."
"A physical one?" Naina asked, surprised.
"No... no...verbal one."
Naina breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank god."
"I heard that!" Aditi pouted on the other side.
"Okay, meri maa, calm down. Now tell me, who did you get into a fight with?"
"I don't know." The latter mumbled quietly, making Naina chuckle in amusement. "You don't know who you got into a fight with."
"Yeah."
"Do you realise how stupid you sound right now, Aditi?"
Aditi scoffed. "I thought you would be of some help, but you aren't."
