Beca and Chloe knew how to read each other like a book. They had known each other for 7 years and had lived together for 6. Being in the Bella's house for 3 of those years had brought them together, but living in the same apartment the last 3 had pulled them closer than they ever thought was possible. This is how Beca knew Chloe was having a bad day from the first glance.
It was a Saturday, meaning none of the three girls had work or any other responsibilities to fulfill. This also meant that the girls could sleep in. For Chloe, she usually only slept until 7 on weekends. Beca would normally wake around 8:30, and Amy was always up past noon.
As Beca woke up, it took her a few minutes to realize there was an unusual weight on her chest. She knew it couldn't be Chloe, as she was never in bed past 7:30 and usually didn't cuddle with Beca while they slept.
She opened her eyes quickly, seeing her best friend cuddled up to her. Immediately, Beca's concern grew when she saw a sad look on the gingers face. She began running her fingers through her silky hair, getting Chloe's attention who stared up at her with a sorrow look.
"You okay?" Beca asked, her voice laced with sleep as well as concern.
"Mhm." she murmured, closing her eyes and cuddling in closer to Beca's neck, making the brunettes heart rate skyrocket.
"Chloe, not that I'm complaining about all this, but this is not like you." Beca whispered, careful not to wake Amy as she stared down at Chloe.
"I'm just a little tired ." Chloe stated, not opening her eyes and not moving off of the brunette.
Beca knew that wasn't the case. She could tell by the way her eyes didn't shine as bright and how her eyebrows were knitted together tensely that something else was going on.
"How about this." Beca started, rubbing her back comfortingly, "You relax your muscles and take a hot shower. When you're done, I'll be waiting for you with a warm towel and a hot cup of coffee for you. Sound good?"
Chloe didn't respond. Instead, Beca could see her lips curling up into a genuinely happy expression.
"There's that smile!" Beca's smile rising at the sight. "So is that a yes."
Chloe shook her head and got up off of Beca, giving the brunette a hug when she got up herself.
"Thank you." Chloe whispered into her ear as they embraced.
"Don't mention it." Beca said before letting go, "Go relax, i'll be right here waiting."
As soon as Chloe entered the bathroom, Beca went to the cabinet and grabbed a fluffy, white towel. She made her way over and put it in the dryer to warm it up.
While it was warming, she went over to the coffee maker and put in a pod of Chloe's favorite. A caramel frappe. She grabbed a mug and waited for it to brew, humming a light tune with the distant background sounds of the shower and dryer. Once the coffee had poured into the cup, she made sure it was to Chloe's likings. Two sugar packets, a little bit of milk, some salted caramel creamer, and topped with whipped cream and some caramel drizzle. Beca never knew how she could handle so much sugar and sweetness, but she could never say no to making Chloe's request.
Soon after her own coffee cup was done, it being just normal coffee with two sugar packets, she heard the shower turn off. That's when she went to the dryer to fetch the now warm towel and brought it to the bathroom.
She knocked, hearing the lock click before stepping inside. She wrapped the towel around Chloe gently, pulling her in for another warm hug afterwards. The two exchanged small smiled before the brunette left, letting the girl have some privacy while she changed clothes.
