Beca was internally freaking out. She had been standing outside of Chloe's dorm for over 5 minutes, deciding whether or not she should knock. After some convincing from Fat Amy, Beca finally decided it was time to do it. Time to confess something to her best friend that she never thought she would.
'Knock on the damn door.' Beca mentally told herself as she raised her hand up to the door, yet again, before dropping it back to her side and cursing internally. It was a lot harder to find the courage she needed than she thought it would be.
Just as she was about to knock again, the door opened. She was greeted by her blonde captain, who was heading out of the room.
"Why are you here?" Aubrey groaned, leaning against the doorframe with her purse dangling over her shoulder. Aubrey and Beca never really got along. The blonde hated her for some reason, but it didn't bother the brunette since she wasn't fond of her captain anyways.
"I-" she stuttered, "I need to talk to Chloe."
"Of course you do." she mumbled to herself, yet it was more than clear enough for Beca to hear. "Chloe!" she called out, turning around while she yelled for her friend.
"Yeah Bree?" Chloe yelled from her room.
"The midget wants to see you!" and with that, Aubrey gave her a glare and left the room, heading down the hall and disappearing around the corner.
"Hey, Becs!" Chloe said from the doorway where she had replaced Aubrey's spot. "Whatcha doing here?"
"I-" she stopped, deciding whether or not she should continue with her plan. "I just wanted to hangout with my best friend!" she said, internally punching herself for not going according to plan.
"Okay sure! Anything in mind?" Chloe said, leading the two girls in and to the couch.
"Not really, just wanted some company." Beca said.
"You're taking music theory, right?" Chloe said, sitting as close to Beca as possible and opening her laptop.
"Yeah, fun class. Why?" Beca wondered.
"I'm taking it too, but I'm stuck on this one part of the assignment. Do you think you could help me?" she pleaded, desperate to finish it and be done with homework for the weekend.
"Yeah, sure." Beca said, more than willing to help her best friend.
The two girls breezed through the assignment. Beca was an expert on music theory and that so happened to be her best grade. Once they were done and the assignment was submitted, Chloe ordered a pizza for them to eat while they decided what to do next.
"You want to watch a movie?" Chloe said hopefully.
"I hate movies." Beca grumbled, crossing her arms sarcastically.
"Pleaseeeee?" Chloe begged, turning her body to better face the brunette. "We can watch White Chicks. It's hilarious."
Beca thought about it for a moment. Even though she hated everything about movies, this could give her a chance to confess to Chloe. She also knew the redhead loved to cuddle, so that was a plus. "Fine." she said after some time.
"Yes!" Chloe squealed, pulling Beca in for a tight hug and squeezing her tight, making the brunettes heard skip and beat and begin to flutter.
Chloe turned the movie on and they ate their pizza before she set the half eaten box aside and cuddled closer to the brunette. She loved the warm feeling she got when she could lay her head on her shoulder and wrap an arm around her waist.
Although Beca would never say it out loud, the movie was actually really funny. She couldn't help but laugh throughout the whole thing and by the end, she had completely forgotten about her plan to tell Chloe.
Once the credits rolled, Beca loosened her grip on Chloe slightly, intending on getting up and heading back to her dorm to get some sleep. Chloe, however, had different plans. She tightened her grip on the brunette, not letting her so and snuggling in closer.
"Don't go." Chloe insisted. "Stay the night?"
"Only if it's okay with Aubrey." Beca said, worried she would come back at any time.
"She's staying the night with Stacie. There's something going on between those two." Chloe said, causing a shiver to rock Beca's body as her voice was felt against her neck.
"Oh, really?" Beca was shocked to hear Aubrey and Stacie were a thing.
"Oh yeah. It's pretty cute. Being in love with another Bella would be pretty great, don't you think?"
Beca spaced out for a few moments, processing what Chloe had said. She was in love with another Bella. She was out of her mind falling for this girl who had no idea about it. Was Chloe implying that she was in love with another Bella? Did Beca even have a chance anymore?
"Beca?" Chloe said, sitting up and staring into Beca's distant blue eyes.
"Oh, sorry. Yeah, that would be pretty great." Her voice trailed off at the end as her eyes drifted down to where her hands were fidgeting.
"What's wrong?" Chloe asked, noticing Beca's mood become distant after her mention of Aubrey and Stacie.
"I-" Beca started.
'Now or never.' she told herself mentally, taking a deep breath before giving it a go.
"I can't wait." her voice cracked and her eyes began to water slightly in fear it would be their last moment together as friends.
"Wait for what?" Chloe asked, giving her a concerned look and grabbing her hands. "Talk to me."
"I can't wait anymore to tell you. Chloe I love you." she said, making eye contact with the surprised blue eyes in front of her.
"W-what?" came the response, half shocked and half excited.
"I love you. I can't wait anymore to tell you that i've loved you for so long and that I don't think I could ever care about anyone else in the way I care about you."
There was a moment of silence, absolutely terrifying the brunette. She thought during that few minutes of silence, Chloe's hands would pull away from hers and never touch hers again. When Chloe's thumbs began to run across her knuckles, it told her that Chloe had something to say.
"While we're talking about the things we can't wait for," she said, glancing up at Beca's terrified expression and leaning in closer to whisper, "I can't wait to kiss you."
And with that, a small smile formed on the brunettes tense face as she leaned in, connecting her lips to Chloe's soft, delicate ones. The kiss was soft and sweet, but filled with passion and emotion. Neither of the two ever wanted to forget that moment as they savored the feeling of having their lips touch for the first time. After a few minutes, they pulled back and stared into each other's eyes.
They couldn't wait to be each others forever.
