"Chloe!" Beca yelled from the living room, making the ginger walk out from her room to see what was up.

"What's up, Becs?" she said as she watched the girl grab her keys and shoes.

"Want to go get some Taco Bell?" she asked hopefully, putting her keys in the pocket of her jeans.

"It's like, 11:30. What's the catch?" Chloe asked, wondering why her best friend needed food so late.

"No catch. I'll drive, i'll pay. You can just sit in the passenger seat with your feet up on the dash for all I care."

And that's exactly what she did.

As they drove, the low hum of the radio played in the background while Beca made the 15 minute drive to the nearest Taco Bell. Truth be told, she didn't like going anywhere alone at night. She really wanted some Taco Bell and knew Chloe would tag along if she asked her.

As she drove through the very empty and quiet streets, she couldn't help that her gaze kept landing on the beautiful ginger beside her. Her tight curls had fallen into loose waves over her shoulders throughout the day, making them look soft and perfectly rounding her face. Her eyes still twinkled with ocean blue, even in the dim light of the traffic lights and streets. She had on a baggy t-shirt and some sweats, her intentions were clear she wasn't planning on going anywhere. Her feet sat up on the dash, her black hightop converse laced perfectly on her feet. And she hummed along softly the radio.

"You know," Chloe said, clearly oblivious to Beca's admiring. "I never ate Taco Bell until we became friends."

"What?!" Beca gasped in shock, almost hitting the breaks as she did.

"Yeah, my parents never liked it. They preferred other places like Del Taco. But I could never get behind that place. The food was always cold and it just never really tasted that good to me."

"Del Taco is a rip." Beca grumbled sarcastically, "I hate that place with a passion. Ever since i've had adult money, I will never go back there until my life depended on it."

"Jesus, Becs." Chloe laughed, amused at how mad the thought of that place made the girl.

Just as they finished their conversation, they pulled into the drive thru and Beca ordered her and Chloe's food. To no surprise, they were the only ones in the drive thru, until they finished ordering and a black BMW with tinted windows pulled up behind them. Beca thought nothing of that and grabbed their food before driving out to the back of the parking lot so they could eat their food.

The parking lot wasn't well lit, but she could still see the Taco Bell from a distance. She could also see the black car get their food and drive across the parking lot. She could see an outline of a man searching around like he was looking for something before he pulled in facing them about four rows down. This made Beca feel uneasy, but she didn't want to scare Chloe, so she discreetly locked the doors and grabbed the food out of the bag.

The two ate in a peaceful silence, making small talk once in a while, while the radio hummed quietly in the background.

Chloe was talking about something when she noticed Beca's attention was not on her or her food. But instead, she was staring at the black car that had parked several yards away from them. She saw Beca's gaze go from soft to hard and protective when there was excessive movement in there before the door opened.

"What's that guy doing?" Chloe asked, worry wavering slightly in her voice.

"I don't know." Beca replied, still focused on the guy who was now walking towards them.

"Stay in the car." Beca said, setting down her taco and unbuckling her seatbelt.

"Beca wait." Chloe said, putting a hand on her thigh to stop her. "What if he's dangerous?"

"I don't think he would want to mess with me. Especially when you're here." Beca said before opening the door and stepping out.

"What's your deal, man?" Beca said when she met him half way.

"No deal, I just want the ginger." he said like it was the most casual thing in the world.

"You what?" she asked in shock, wondering if she had heard him right.

"I want her to be mine." he grumbled and started to storm towards the car.

Beca stormed after him, looking up to see fear etched into Chloe's expression and he walked forward.

"I don't think so." Beca said, punching him square in the face when he was close enough to the car.

"Did you really just do that?" he growled, standing back up next to the brunette.

Beca swallowed thickly, realizing the man was at least a foot taller than her. Before she knew it, she felt a fist connect with her face and a muffled "Beca!" came from the car. She immediately fought back, punching him in the face again and kicking him in the balls, leaving him groaning on the ground.

"Try messing with my girl again and see what happens." she said, then realizing Chloe probably heard what she said and felt a little embarrassed.

When she hoped back in the car, she was immediately met with a pair of soft lips on her own. Her eyes opened in shock, but soon closed as she melted into the kiss.

"What was that all about?" Beca said with a smile once they pulled away.

"You saved me." Chloe whispered, swiping her thumb lightly over the gash that had been left above her best friend's eyebrow.

"I'd do anything for you." Beca said quietly back, pulling her back in for another kiss. "Now let's get home. I don't think I'll feel safe until we're home and I can wrap you in my arms."
