The front door of Beca, Chloe, and Amy's apartment shut with a small click, leaving Chloe feeling cold and alone already. She stared at the door for a few minutes, imagining her girlfriend walking through that door again and cuddling with her until the sun set.
"It's only one night." Chloe told herself.
This would be the first night since the apartment was bought that Chloe would have to be alone. Amy was on a trip with Bumper in Florida and Beca was staying the night at a cousins house. Chloe was really sad Beca wouldn't be there for the night, but the brunette reassured her she would be back early the next morning. Chloe could still feel the lingering kiss that was left on her lips before the door shut a few minutes earlier.
Snapping her gaze away from the door, Chloe knew she needed to do something to distract herself from the loneliness that was sure to hit her by night time.
She grabbed a pen and note pad from the kitchen drawer and decided to write a shopping list for herself. The apartment was running low on food and she figured she'd stalk up before Beca returned the next day.
Milk
Beca couldn't handle a cup of coffee without milk, which just so happened to run out with Beca's morning cup.
Noodles
Beca loved mac and cheese, especially when Chloe made it.
Cheese
Once again, Beca loved mac and cheese.
Chocolate chips
Beca couldn't ever get enough of chocolate chip pancakes.
Eggs
With every new thing she wrote, her mind darted back to Beca.
Bacon
Her favorite breakfast food.
Taco seasoning
Her girlfriend loves Taco Bell.
Guacamole
Strawberries
Dr. PepperChloe continued to write the list, her mind constantly thinking about the things Beca loves and what she should stock up on before she gets back. Sure, some of the things Beca loved weren't her favorite, but she would much rather stare at the cute look on Beca's face while she ate the food she loved.
Once the list was made, she got up with a sigh and grabbed her keys and shoes before going down the elevator and to her car.
She drove to the nearest store and grabbed a cart and list out of her pocket.
As she made her way over to get milk and eggs, a voice called from behind her, getting her attention.
"Chloe!"
She turned around to see the familiar face of one of the Bella's. Immediately, she ran over to give her a big hug before they began to talk.
"Hey Stacie!" she said excitedly.
"I feel like I haven't seen you forever!" she commented, "Where's the hobbit?"
Chloe laughed a little at the nickname. She hadn't heard anyone say it since college. "Oh, she's staying the night at her cousins house. It's only like 10 minutes away from here."
"Damn, you got the apartment all to yourself then. Are you going to have a little personal time if you know what I mean." Stacie said with a wink, Chloe immediately knowing what she was implying.
"Gross." she said quietly, looking down at her feet.
"What's with the sad face? Is the badass not giving you what you need?" she questioned with a small smirk on her face.
"It's not that," Chloe started, looking at her list full of Beca's favorite things. "I've just never spent a night in the apartment without her before. I miss her."
"It's going to be okay Chloe. She's coming back in the morning. I bet if you ask, she will make it up to you." she said, making a gesture with her hands that Chloe knew was inappropriate.
"You're right. She's gonna be back before I know it." she smiled slightly at the brunette.
"Exactly. Well, I need to get home to Aubrey. It's shark week and she was going to rip my head off if I didn't get her some chocolate."
Chloe laughed a little, remembering the days where she had to be there for her during those days before she got a girlfriend. "Alright, tell her I say hi."
"Will do. See ya Chloe!" Stacie called out before walking away. Chloe sighed and continued shopping.
Later that evening after unloading groceries, eating dinner, and taking a shower, she got in bed and sent her girlfriend a quick goodnight text before setting her phone to the side and turning off the lamp. As she shut her eyes, the loneliness really began to set in. There wasn't a dip in the bed where Beca normally slept and the smell of her perfume only lingered off of her pillow. She rolled over into the middle of the bed, feeling Beca's spot so cold and empty. Eventually, Chloe couldn't handle being alone anymore. She needed Beca.
The clock read 12:57. She hoped Beca was still awake when she reached for her phone and clicked on her contact. The brunette picked up immediately, to Chloe's surprise.
"Chloe? Are you okay? It's really late." Beca said, though her voice didn't sound sleepy or groggy at all.
"Everything's okay, it's just-" she paused, knowing her excuse for calling was a little silly.
"Just what, sweetheart?" Beca said softly, making Chloe's heart melt.
"I can't sleep if you're not here to cuddle with me" Chloe said quietly, hoping Beca had heard.
"I've been thinking the exact same thing all day." Beca responded, causing relief to flood through Chloe's body. "I'll be home in 15."
"What about your cousin?" she asked.
"She will understand. I'll be home soon, baby."
Once the phone hung up, a small smile displayed itself on Chloe's face. She waited patiently until she heard keys in the door. She immediately bolted upright, running to greet her girlfriend.
"Beca!" she said happily, running to embrace her girlfriend.
"Hey Chlo, missed me that much?" she joked, feeling Chloe burry her head in her shoulder.
"Yes, can we go to sleep now?" she said, the words muffled in Beca's shoulder.
"Let's sleep."
With that, the two went back over to their bed and collapsed, immediately wrapping each other in a warm embrace.
"I love you, Beca." Chloe said just before she drifted off to sleep.
"I love you too, Chloe."

I didn't really know what to write for this one, but I hope it's half decent. Enjoy :)
