WRITING UPDATES
Jul 25 2024: Chapter 5 , Part 1 is out. I updated chapter 4 to include more of Sunny's internal dialogue e.g. he is starting to think about whether he really wants the things he has been chasing. Rest of the chapter 5 will be out by July 31st. Reading update: I am slowly going through All In (Billie jean King's autobiography) to understand what it feels like to be queer and be at the height of your sport.
June 28 2024: Chapter 5 will be released July 31st.
June 20 2024: Okay! Writing is going slower than expected, or maybe it is going at the pace it is supposed to :) Rest of Chapter 4 is in edit and I plan to post by June 27.
June 4 2024: Chapter 4 timing: It is summer break in Cali, so writing might be a bit slow. Aiming for mid-June release of chapter 4. I am also doing some research into grassroot level cricket culture. Leave a comment with articles, or books I can read as inspiration. Currently I am reading A cop in cricket. I want to do justice to my imagined backstory for Sunny and Shaan.
I will be revising the chapters often with small changes like making a sentence tighter, or changing out a word. If I need to change something major in the published chapters to fit the arc better, I will leave a note here.
SOUTH ASIAN LINGO USED IN THIS STORY:
Bhai: means brother. People often refer to an older man as a Bhai as a form of respect.
Meri jaan: means my-life. It is used similarly to darling or my love.

A batsman's form: How well is the player 'seeing' the ball to play consistently game after game. It describes a player's physiological state versus something technical about their game.
