The serene ambiance surrounds him as Thuriya turned another page on his book. Distant chanting from a nearby monastery continues, their worship in Pali echoed through the wind. A tap on his window frame suggested a wrongly navigated night bird bumping into the glass when he heard a knock coming from the door.
"Thuriya..?Thuriya are you asleep? ". It was his father, Henry Lin.
"Yes...a moment..." Thuriya got up and walked to the door to open for him.
"Am I disturbing you on something..?" Mr Lin asked.
"Of course not..." Thuriya looked around the house.
"Henry....", he said smiling, knowing nobody's around.
"May i.?"
"Oh please..."
Thuriya let him in his room and closed the door behind.
They both sat down at the couch before Mr Henry Lin spoke first.
"Sir.....May I ask how long are you planning to stay here this time..?"
"Why do you ask that Henry..." Thuriya said pouring him some tea from the pot.
"I....." Henry Lin hesitated.
"Here, take this tea....", Thuriya said handing him over the cup.
"It might not make you an immortal but...that ought to make your body a whole lot healthier.....hmmm.." He smiled.
Henry Lin took that cup with both of his hands.
"So....did you have anything to say to me Henry?" asked Thuriya.
Mr Henry Lin hesitated in a pause but then he looked up to him.
"It's just...you don't always stay much too long in one place .."
"You've already done a great deal for the company Sir....for me..", he said, still holding the cup.
"And....I can't thank you enough for what you've done.."
Thuriya let out a smile.
"Henry my boy...we're not strangers are we?"
"Of course we're not Sir..."
Henry Lin bend down his head staring onto his cup.
Thuriya narrowed his eyes looking down to him.
"You don't want me to go, is it...?"
President Henry Lin looked up instantly and he smiled looking bashful.
"Sir...you read my mind.." he took a sip from the cup.
Thuriya smiled shaking his head. He knew how Henry thinks highly of him and that, after his parents died, Henry Lin continued to think Thuriya as his real family.
"Henry...you know that.."
"I know sir.....that's why I'm asking...." Henry Lin looked to Thuriya, clouds of sadness looming on his face.
"Because.. since you've already came out to the society as my son,....you won't be coming back this time aren't you?"
Thuriya nodded noticing the worry in his eyes.
"Henry...haha...when did you become this soft.."
"I think I've grown quite dependent on you sir..." Mr Lin mumbled.
Thuriya nodded listening to him.
"You're right...if I leave, we won't see each other again...not in this life time at least.."
