It was an exceptional day for her.

Rose finally felt the sweet relief in her chest as she saw her best friend Amara.

"Heyy...."

"Hi.... Come here you.."

Amara as usual ran to her and hugged her with the most affectionate smile.

"Wow you're looking good...I didn't expect you to be this chill tho" said Amara while checking her top to toe.

"What.? You thought I'd be a mess by now...?"

"Sobbing your way through life of course...hahaha" Amara completed her sentence.

"Right...." Rose said with a nod.

"Come on.. let's go inside... Ma's making lunch already.. oh and how's the flight..."

"Flight was okay..." said Amara pausing in the mid sentence.

As they both got into the house, Rose's mother came out to greet her.

"Amara welcome... make yourself at home..."

"Will do M'am..." laughed Amara.

"Lunch will be ready in 15..."

"Sure thing Ma..."

They sat down at the chairs while Daw Nwe went back into the kitchen.

"So... what's with the sudden visit..?" Rose asked looking at Amara.

"To see you of course, what else.."

Amara replied looking away from her and Rose immediately caught her friend's unusual expression.

"Then why do you avoid eye contact when I ask you a question?"

Amara twitched and pressed her lips.

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

"Amara come on....". Rose frowned at her.

Amara tried to stand for a while but she couldn't.

She could never lie to Rose anyways.

"Alright...alright....goodness... I am telling the truth tho', that I came here to check up on you..."

Rose pursed her lips.

"And I said I'm fine..."

Amara's face turned pale like a kitten.

"Not the whole truth.... I came to check up on you because..."

"because ...?"

She couldn't give her back an answer.

By this time, Rose became more agitated and sat up straight.

"Amara for God's sake.... I swear.."

"It's them... Rose... Arkar and his new miss barbie.."

This time, it was Rose who's taken aback and went speechless.

"Wait... why......" she stuttered in words to response.

"What do I have to do with them... we're hundreds of miles away..."

"Yeaaaa....about that...." Amara bit her lips.

"I don't know why but I think Arkar's trying to get in touch with you again.."

"What...."

"Yeah, he kept calling me, asking me your whereabouts and...I didn't tell him a thing but..he said he wanted to apologize and that..he made a mistake...and"
