26: Contract.

Chapter 26: Contract.

      I sat by my glass wall, staring at the reflection of the morning clouds on the pool beside my room, I had been discharged from the hospital a week ago after spending two weeks there.

During which Mr Aman visited, we didn't speak much to each other, we'd only do our things separately or have Ed and Mia to disturb us.

I had not told her about the deal between Mr Aman and I since she returned, knowing her, she'd tell me to cut of the deal and think about it.

I sighed, " I should get to work, " I muttered, standing from my bed.

On getting to the living room, Ed was seated on the couch, her sketchbook in her arms as she worked on her latest sketch, I shook my head.

I had been like her once, I still was, thinking everything was my fault, that if I worked harder, I would get what I wanted.

My age didn't matter, as long as I could help those around me, however I didn't want her like that, I wanted her to enjoy her childhood while it lasted, I didn't want her to be pressured by life at such a young age.

Sighing, I walked over to her and closed the sketchbook, "you have school today remember?, leave the adult things to the adult, "

She glanced at me then back to her sketchbook, I tilted my head to her backpack, " it's time for school, I want you to stop sketching for a while, just- just take a break, please, "

"But-"

"No buts Ed, I won't take that from you, this is for your own good and no matter what you say, I won't change my decision on this, take a break and that's final," I stated.

"Okay, " she replied softly.

"Good, " releasing a breath, I stood up, " let's go, or you'll be late, " I stated.

She stood up, picked up her backpack and followed me out to my car.

The whole ride to her school was quiet, after I dropped her at school," bye, I love you, " I shouted to her, then I headed to Stedmia, though we still had a decline in market, we still had about fifty percent of our customers with us which means we still had a change at getting back up.

We had no time for chitchat as it was one of the busiest time of the company, we had another fashion show coming up next weekend.

I stayed in my office the whole day, in between meetings, planning and calls, it was so hectic that I had no time for lunch.

The whole week had been like that, me busy with work, without having time for food, I knew I could get sick again at any moment yet I didn't rest, this time I had no time for it.

The ringing of my phone disrupted the meeting I was having with my secretary and Mia, checking the ID, it was a private number, I messaged my temple.

"Let's have a break, you have all worked hard, " I concluded, closing the file in my hand, " and I want you to contact the Miller to knew if they are still interested in the deal, " I told Rhea, my secretary, I had memorized her name at some point.

"Yes ma'am, " she responded and headed out of the meeting room, my phone rang again.

"Mia!  Bring the name of the list of models we have for the fashion show then draft up a contract for the newest one who just joined, oh and that movie star too,"

"The new one? " Mia inplored, fixing her curly hair in place.

"Yes, she will be working here as a model for a year too, " I added.

"Sure, oh won't you pick the call? "

I glanced at my phone."oh, um... You are right, I have to pick the call, " I informed Mia.

"I will be back then," she nodded and headed out.

"Hello, "

" come outside, " Mr Aman said from the other line.

"I can't, I am tied up at the moment, " I responded.

"So am I Mrs Normans, yet here I am at the parking lot of your building, asking that you come out and meet me, " he voice was calm yet laced with irritation.

I sighed, licking my lip, "Look, I am busy at the moment and I just dismissed a meeting to take this call, besides I am not your personal assistant that you can order around, I am a CEO on my own, "

The line went silent.

"Hello? Mr Aman are you still there? Hello! " he said nothing, " if you have nothing to say then I am ending the call, " I informed, ending the call.

Soon after, I headed out to get myself some food as I was starved, half the way, someone grabbed my hand and hauled me out of the building.

It was none other than Mr Aman, I should have expect it, he dragged me into his car and sat at the other side.

"What do you want? " I demanded, irritated to no end.

He threw a brown envelope to me, "read it, " he stated, looking at me.

I raised a brow and picked up the envelope, then I open it only to realize it was a contract. "A contract? What for? "

"I want our agreements on paper, I signed mine, it is your turn to sign, you can take some time to read it through of course, then you inform me on what you agree on and what you don't, " he explained.

I nodded, "is that all? "

"Yes, unless you have something to say, ".

I shook my head.

"Have a nice day then, "

"Yeah, you too, " I said, then I exited his car and stood aside, waiting for him to drive out, once he did that, I shouted, " bye, I love you, " I had already said it before I realized what I had said.

Thankfully he couldn't hear my words as he was long gone, I groaned. The fact that I said that to Ed every time had gotten to me.

greatful he didn't hear me, I headed back to the office as the free time I had had been wasted while I spoke to him, I guess I'd have to get home before eating.
