Chapter 23: Lookalike

Stacey.

God, how many time had I vomited in a day, five? Six? No Seven times, in just a day, my whole body hurt, it seem I was coming up with a migraine.

Grimacing, I cleaned my mouth and flushed the foul liquid I had just gutted out of my body down the toilet.

Holding my stomach, I headed into my room, barely able to keep my eyes open as I sunk into the comfort of the sheet.

Ed got discharged two days ago, she had no injury, she only fainted due to the shock, I couldn't be more than greatful to God that he protected my daughter from that evil mans ploy.

She had only wanted to take her lunch that day, as she forgot it in the car, but before she could meet up with her tiny legs, I was long gone and she was met with an accident.

"Ugh, " I groaned once again, not able to comprehend how miserable my life had become since the moment that man returned in my life.

"Mum! " my baby called, shaking my shoulder as gentle as she did everytime I overslept.

"Yes, "I could barely make out the words coming out of my mouth.

"Are you alright? You are burning up! "

Shaking my head, I responded, " i-i am not alright, help me get Molly, "

"Okay, " I heard her say before her little feet pet-pattered the sparkly tiles of my room.

I have no idea how long I slept till she returned, panic edged in her voice, "she is not home Mom, she must have gone to her house for the weekend, May gave birth two days ago, I forgot to tell you about it."

May? Who is may again?

I scanned through my tired brain, trying to locate the part of it that had that memory.

Wait! It's coming up.

It's coming up!

And bingo!

May was Molly's little sister who got pregnant after 15 years of praying and hoping for a baby.

"Oh, that's great baby, I should congratulate her when I get better, "

"But what should I do Mum? You need help, " her panicked voice said once again.

"It's alright, Mom will be fine, " I told her, falling into the warm embrace of darkness.

When my eyes opened once again, I was still in my room, though I had no idea why I felt better.

Plopping myself up the bed, I groggily headed to the bathroom for a quick mouth wash, then to the living room to look for Ed.

"Ed, where are you? Come over for breakfast, " I said, then I collided with the couch.

Ouch, that hurt.

Whimpering, I limped to the couch at the other side, holding my leg.

"Ed, can you hand me an icepack! " I asked, yet no response.
