Chapter 35: Culprit?...

Stacey.

I sat by the pool outside my room, lost in thoughts.since I found out about my feelings, it had been harder for me to see him or even face him, especially after what I had witnessed at his house.

Someone covered me with a blanket, his cologne wafted into my nose, the smell of nature on him was refreshing and calming.

" we couldn't catch him, he seems to know our every move, " his voice was quiet.

" I am sorry, "

He said nothing neither did I as we both enjoyed the outside breeze.

I hated myself for having feelings for him and I hated him more for making my heart flutter everytime.

"Did you come to my penthouse two days ago? " he asked, breaking the silence, I glanced at him then away.

"I didn't, " My lie flew out more easier than I expected, he nodded, then we went back to being quiet.

More minutes flew by before he spoke again. " I need you to accompany me to a funeral, "

"Who died, "

"My friends father, "

"Oh, I am sorry, "

"Don't be, " he paused, " you should know him, he had once returned you home from my penthouse, "

" he did?... I don't think, wait, is he that man who returned me home, the mysterious man? "

"Damien, he is mysterious in deed, " he chuckled.

"So, when is the funeral? ".

"In a week, "

"Okay, " I returned my gaze to the swimming pool, Damien, the man in the sketch, were they really the same? If they were then why did my sister sketch so many sketches of him and who was he to her?

Did they know each other before her death? If they did, why didn't he attend her funeral?

All these questions were too plaguing, too disturbing to think about.

"It's getting late, I have to leave," Dyletto informed.

"Oh, Um... Sure, sure you should, good night,"

"Good night,"

After he left, I headed I Inside for a good night sleep.

"Bye baby,"

" By Mom, I love you,"

" I love you too," I smiled as I waved my daughter bye for the night, it was the night for the funeral, Mrs Aman Volunteered to take care of Edna for the night as she was not attending the funeral.

I had no problem with that as there was no one else I could keep her with.

"She will be fine," Dyletto assured.

"Thank you," I flashed him a greatful smile not bothering that he cared as I needed his assurance at the moment.

Thoughts had been running wild in my head the past days, different thoughts and reasons, reasons I needed answers to, I needed to know why my sister's first sketch since the awful incident had been that man.
