"It's already late, you should spend the night."

"I should?"

"Yes," Amina nodded with a smile.

"I guess I have no choice then, it's past 8 already." She replied while glancing at the wall clock.

"I'm glad you would, we should catch up on a lot later before we go to bed."

"Sure." Hanan smiled while turning her head to Najib, she heaved a sigh.

"I think Grandma shouldn't find out." She whispered to Amina.

"Yeah, she's already looking weak, and now if she finds out Ya Najib collapsed then she would be tensed."

"Yeah." Hanan agreed and soon diverted her attention back to Najib whose doctor was currently examining him while he lay there motionless.

"I hope there's nothing much to his fatigue?" Hanan asks the doctor as she walks up to him.

"No, he should just have a lot of rest and eat a lot healthier, and also he shouldn't let what has happened get to him coz I can see that it has also contributed to stress."

"Okay..."

"And I've prescribed some vitamins and energy boosters for him, once he takes them he will feel a lot better."

"Thanks, doctor." Hanan smiled.

"My pleasure, I will take my leave now." He says.

"Let me escort you out," Amina replied and with the doctor they left, leaving Hanan alone with Najib.

She stared at his face from a distance and it was clear that he had gone through a lot just within a day of his father's demise.

Though they were never close, though he resented his father, however, with the amount of pain she saw in his eyes earlier, one could say Nonetheless, he loved his father dearly.

Hanan took slow steps toward him, taking her seat just beside him, she patted his hand and heaved a sigh.

"Najib." She called softly.

"You shouldn't fall ill, Grandma and Amina need you by their side, Alhaji is gone now, our prayers are all he needs, and you are now the head of this family, be strong, forgive yourself, and accept this." She whispered while staring at his face, she saw a scar on his eyebrow and if she could remember, the first time they met again, she noticed this same scar but then she wasn't as curious as she was now.

She had a strong urge to touch his face especially now that she felt his hand becoming cold.

"Why are you suddenly cold?" She mutters while patting his face, she feels her palms turn cold.

"A thicker blanket and a sweater should warm you up." She sighed.

Turning on the room heater, she heads to his closet and just as she reaches for the door, she instantly has a flashback.

"I hate intruders!" That same stern look and harsh voice, She could picture him glaring at her at the moment and that gave her a negative feeling.

"I hope I'm not going ahead of myself by trying to do this?" She sighed and stared back at his calm face still asleep.

"I should get out of here or else I might do what I may regret." She says and she is about to walk out of the room when she hears him cough.

Quickly, she rushed to his side, and without any hesitation, she went to his closet and grabbed a jacket, socks, and a blanket.

"How could I even think of leaving him alone in his ill condition?" She muttered while carefully lifting his head to her chest, she wore him his jacket and ever so gently, she laid him back on his pillow, then she reached his feet, rubbing some ointment on them, she massaged his feet till she could feel their warmth before putting on the pair of socks for him and then she wrapped up by tucking him properly into his blanket.
