Hanan rehearsed her smile as she walked towards the staircase when someone snatched her by her arm.

"Ahh!" She yelled.

Her back against the wall, Faruk leaned forward.

"Hey, it's me." He whispered.

"Faruk? Why did you grab me like that? You scared the shit out of me!" She scowled.

But he ignores her an,d asks. "Why was Amina here? Did she say something awful about me? She came to stop our wedding, right?" Faruk asks angrily but she stares calmly at him.

"I knew it! They just won't stop hovering around you... He continues and then she shakes her head and points her ring finger.

"She came only to give me this." She sighed.

"Why was it with her? Did she take it, don't mind, just be a good girl and do not lose it."

"She didn't take it, she helped me find it and I won't lose it again, satisfied? Now so let's go and meet your family." She sighed and attempted to leave but he held her arm.

"Now what?" She groaned.

"I won't be staying for long, I've got urgent work and an appointment with my designer."

"Okay..."

"So, before I leave..." He smiled while his eyes darted down to her lips, she quickly understood what he was hinting at so she pushed him away.

"No, we can't!" She whispered.

"Fine, but after our wedding you can't stop me." He smirked and just the thought of it nauseates her.

"Yeah, whatever now let's go, I have kept them waiting for long." She says and quickly heads off before he stops her again.

And just as Hanan walked into the living room to meet them, the first person her gaze landed on was...

"Meet Aunty Hauwa, my mom's younger sister, Aunty Hauwa, meet my fiancee, Hanan." Faruk introduced them.

Aunty Hauwa could fairly be described as someone who escaped albinism as her entire skin was pale, very fair, and reddish, she had golden hair color as well, and she looked intimidating as she eyed Hanan from head to toe.

"Good afternoon ma, You're welcome, and it's my pleasure to meet you, Aunty Hauwa." She greeted both of them.

"Good afternoon dear, from henceforth, I will address you as my daughter and you will address me as your mom, okay?" Faruk's mom smiled.

"Yes, ma..." Hanan replied but halfway she got interrupted by Aunty Hauwa.

"Faruk, you didn't disappoint me, you've gotten a beautiful woman, and she seems to be well behaved too aside from being punctual at receiving her guests."

"Oh, I'm sorry I kept you waiting...

"Hanan, you don't need to apologize." Faruk sighed. "I delayed her...

"It's fine, Faruk." Hanan smiled and turned to face her. "I will take note of that Aunty Hauwa, I'm Sorry." She smiled.

"It's fine dear." She says with a sneer.

"But Faruk is already spoiling you by defending your actions he doesn't know that once you marry him you don't only belong to him but our entire family as well, what is wrong in correcting you?" She says while glancing at him, but he knew his Aunty so well, she is dramatic and has a foul mouth so he decided to ignore her and leave before he lost his temper.

"Mom, I will be leaving now, bye Hanan, I will see you later." He waved at her as he took his leave and she did too.

"Hanan, come, don't mind her, ignore all she said." Faruk's mother smiled while adjusting for her to sit with her.
