Najib got to Hanan's door, helping her step out of the car, she smiled, taking his hand while glancing around in surprise.
"The beach?" She muttered, still glancing around, and for an odd reason, she found the beach unusual.
"Yeah, you don't like the beach?" He replied.
"I do, it's just that I wasn't expecting we were coming to the beach."
"Well, I'm glad I surprised you." He smiled pausing before speaking on. "And I don't think you know but the beach is my favorite spot, I've got lots of good memories at the beach but then I realized there isn't a good memory of me and you here, the first time you nearly drowned, same thing happened the second time coz of me, so I thought why not the beach tonight, I want to make up for all those horrible experiences you had."
"Oh! Nice. Honestly, I love the beach too, but lately, I'd begun to hate it, especially now that I'm beginning to develop a phobia for mass water, it frightens me, but with you around now, I feel my fear is gone."
"Hmm." He hummed, smiling as he stepped forward, he held her waist to him.
"Habibti."
"Yes?"
"Can you close your eyes?"
"My eyes? Why? How do I walk if my eyes are closed?" She says staring at him with a smile.
"I'm here, let me be your eyes for a few minutes, please close your eyes." He insists making her chuckle.
"Okay, as you wish." She shuts her eyes, wondering what he could be up to. She had a hint that he may have set up a surprise birthday party for her, but she couldn't conclude that yet as Najib is unpredictable, it could be something else, but whatever it was, she had a feeling that she was going to love it.
Maintaining her eyes closed while his hand was still holding her waist, they headed into the beach premises.
Hanan couldn't see or tell what was happening around her, but the beach felt strange.
The beach is usually noisy and crowded with people, but since they arrived, she hasn't seen a single person, and now, only the sounds of the beach wave are all she can hear as she walks on the beach, feeling her heels sink into the sloppy beach sand.
"Najib, are we really at the Beach?" She asked making him laugh briefly.
"Yeah, why do you ask?"
"It feels unusual, why do I feel that it's just us around? Why can't I hear the voices of people?" She says, and he laughs again.
"You're so curious huh?"
'Yeah." She nods joining him to laugh.
"Well, yes, it's just us around, I needed privacy."
"Wait, what?" She sighed.
"I booked the beach." He says.
"Huh?!" She gasped. "Is that possible?"
"Yes Habibti, very possible, this is not the public beach you know, we're at a private beach."
"Ohh, now I see why the surroundings feel unfamiliar."
"Yeah, I made a reservation three days back."
"Wow, but why?"
"You will find out in, 10,9,8,7,6,5... He kept counting till they got to his surprise arrangement for her.
"4,3,2,1! Now Habibti open your eyes." He says and the moment Hanan opened her eyes, she was welcomed by darkness. Only a dim light shining from afar made the place a bit visible.
