"God, I'm confused and I feel depressed."
Hanan had been under the shower for half an hour now, standing beneath the cold water gushing over her skin, all she wanted was for the water to wash away her tension and make her feel better while she thought about her life.
"What is this phase of my life called?"
"I'm clueless, what does life want from me?... I don't understand." She exhaled feeling frustrated while her eyes swelled with tears, she began to grit her teeth so hard that she accidentally bit her tongue.
"Ouch!" She groaned feeling her tongue sting in pain.
Hot tears now streamed out of her eyes while she felt the taste of blood, her tongue burned badly, and with heavy feet while holding the tip of her tongue, she dragged her feet to the mirror and stared at her blistered tongue looking sour with a bump.
"Oh my God, it's bad." She mumbled observing that she had torn her skin severely.
"I guess this is what life wants from me, pain, only pain." She pouts while feeling her eyes threaten to cry a river, she wipes them dry.
"My life sucks at the moment so why did I add to my problems?" She snapped watching her reflection in the mirror, she hated how miserable she felt.
"Hanan!?" She hears her name yell out.
"Yes?"
"Are you planning to sleep in there?"
"I will be out now!" She replied while turning off the shower, she draped her body into her bathing suit and practiced a fake smile by the mirror before stepping out of the bathroom to meet Nanny Ann arranging her dinner on her bed.
"I don't think I will be able to eat that."
She sighed as she pointed at the bowl of porridge potato sitting on her bed, the porridge looked so hot that steam filled the air."Why? You should eat, I'm sure you haven't had anything yet."
"I can't coz I just hurt my tongue, see." She mutters while poking out her tongue for Nanny Ann to see, after that, she forces a smile again.
"A glass of water will be enough." She says as she walks to her wardrobe, she picks out a nightwear and gets dressed for bed.
"Besides, I have zero appetite so don't bother about me." She says further.
"Uhm, okay, I will leave the water then, goodnight." Nanny Ann replied and without hesitation, she picked the tray of food to leave which made Hanan curious.
"She didn't even persuade me to eat? Nor did she look concerned that I hurt myself?" Hanan whispered while looking surprised. "And she didn't bother asking me how I'm coping with Faruk's marriage alliance?" She gasped.
"Nanny Ann!" She yelled and rushed after her.
"Yes?"
"You're just going to go to bed?" Hanan mumbled.
"Yes, do you need anything?"
"I... I don't actually." Hanan stuttered still finding her unusual behavior strange.
Nanny Ann is surely the type to persuade and advise her, she also gets curious and questions her so why isn't she curious today? She thought.
"Okay then, goodnight." Nanny Ann smiled and turned to leave but again Hanan stopped her.
"Wait, why are you not asking me any questions?"
"Hmm, About?"
"You know... What happened earlier tonight, about Faruk and his marriage proposal?" Hanan mutters.
