chihiro, billie eilish
After school, Juniper was pulled away by the half and half boy who had been patiently waiting to take up her time. His cool hand gently held hers as they got on the train together, reminding the girl of how they used to do the exact same thing years ago.
The duo took two seats in the cabin, Juniper leaning on Shoto's right side as they departed from the station. She let go of his hand, holding his palm open and upwards to make a mini platform for her to use.
A small sphere of wind formed on his hand, moving around his palm and up to his finger tips. He pointed his index finger upwards, allowing the sphere to spin on his finger before it transformed into a cube spinning on its point. Next, the cube turned into a diamond which enlarged a bit more before dissolving into nothing.
Shoto stood up, pulling the girl behind him who happily let him lead her through the neighborhood. They entered the traditional japanese home, leaving their shoes at the front and making their way inside of the house. Juniper loosely giggled as she looked around, "Wow, it hasn't changed a bit!! Is your room still painted half white and half red?"
He didn't bother answering, allowing his sister to interrupt as they entered the kitchen, "Welcome home Sho— Y-You didn't mention you were bringing a guest!! Come on in you two!!"
Juniper grinned upon seeing the girl, excitedly giving the girl a half hug as she threw her arm around her shoulder, "Fu-yu-mi~ Don't tell me that you already forgot about me? So mean, Fufu!!
TODOROKI FUYUMI had connected the dots, only hearing that childish nickname from one person. She pulled the girl into a hug, shocked at how much taller she had gotten, "Jojo!!! Wow, what are you doing here?? You've grown up into a beautiful woman!!!"
With a grin, Juniper stood up straight and did a mini twirl to give the girl a 360 look, "Oh, you flatter me~" She leaned down to match Fuyumi's height, tilting her head to the side as she asked, "Any chance I could have some cold soba too? I miss your cooking so much!!!"
"Of course!! It'll be ready in a few minutes." The older girl quickly went to work, putting aside the cold soba she made for Shoto and using the ingredients she had already taken out to make another for Juniper.
While she began to cook, Shoto quickly grabbed Juniper's hand once more and swiftly led them away without a word. They made their way through the hallway as the girl began humming whatever random tune had come into her mind. He slid open the door to her room and the girl quickly stepped inside to take the new decorations, "Wow, very... Fun!"
Shoto shrugged, dropping both of their backpacks down against the wall before taking off his jacket and draped it on his chair. His hands naturally moved upwards, reaching toward his red tie to remove that next. He tossed the tie onto his desk, leaving it out to be used the next day, and moved on to his white button down.
Juniper's hands overlapped with his, stopping his motion as she closed the distance between the two of them. A mischievous smirk spread on her lips as she grabbed his collar and pulled the boy's face to right in front of her, "Are you sure you want to do that?"
The boy blinked a few times, eyes locked onto Junipers as he came up with a response, "We used to change together when we were kids. What's wrong with it?"
She moved one hand to caress his cheek, the other toying with one of the buttons on his shirt, "Well... If you want to go down that route..." They were close enough for Shoto to become aware of how their breaths intermingled, the warm feeling that threatened to overwhelm him, and how Juniper looking down on him was ever so alluring. She forced the boy to back up until his legs hit the side of his bed, her eyes looking at the boy like a predator looking at its prey, "Just don't regret it, Sho~to."
The slightest push was all that it took for the half and half boy to lose his balance and sit on his bed, Juniper standing directly in front of him. She wasn't done, sitting on the ground in front of the boy and resting her head on her arms that she placed in the boy's lap.
"So, what will it be?"
"Ah."
A moment passed before Shoto's left side burst into flames. He stood up abruptly, stepping around the girl and using his right side to cover the left side of his face and arm with ice, effectively extinguishing the involuntary fire. Lucky for him, his clothes didn't catch on fire but his racing heart caught him further off guard.
Juniper watched the boy as he checked his pulse, looking at a clock to determine his heart rate accurately. She couldn't help breaking out into laughter, kicking her head backwards on the boy's bed, "OH MY GOD, SHO!!!! Are you flustered?"
He looked around the room a little while debating whether or not more ice could help with what he thought was erratic heart palpitations. Shoto cleared his throat, deciding to melt the ice, and took a seat beside the devilish girl. His voice was a bit quieter than usual as he tried to push the embarrassment down, "... Perhaps."
This confession just confirmed that Juniper had to tease the boy further.
Compared to his typical emotionless reaction, and considering how he had become accustomed to her attempts at annoying him, this new flustered reaction was just what Juniper was looking for.
"Shoto, Juniper! Come get your cold soba!"
It must've been Shoto's lucky day, saved by Fuyumi and his precious cold soba.
But Fuyumi wouldn't always be around to save him.
Juniper always got what she wanted.
