A few days had passed since Lucifer was finally able to leave the hospital. Though he wasn't fully healed, he was well enough to be at home. His reunion with Charlie had been heartwarming, bringing a much-needed sense of normalcy back into his life.
Now, Alastor was at Lucifer's house, sitting beside him on the couch. The past few days had been a mix of relief and lingering anxiety as they tried to piece together the events that led to Lucifer's hospitalization.
"We need to figure out who did this to you," Alastor said, his voice heavy with concern. "And who called me, saying you were dead."
Lucifer nodded, his expression serious. "I've been trying to remember, but it's all a blur. I don't have any enemies that would go this far. At least, none that I know of."
Alastor frowned, his mind racing. "When I ran into my father, he seemed almost eager to convince me you were dead. It felt... off."
Lucifer's eyes narrowed. "Your father? He's always been abusive, but to go this far?"
Alastor shrugged, the tension in his body evident. "I don't know. It just doesn't add up. But the way he approached me, it felt like he was trying to push me over the edge."
Lucifer's anger flared, but he kept it in check. "We'll get to the bottom of this. I promise."

Alastor's father swirled his drink thoughtfully, his mind working through the new circumstances. The dimly lit room cast shadows on his face as he leaned back in his chair, eyes narrowing in thought. "Well, Lucifer waking up certainly complicates things. We were so close to catching Alastor alone."
Vox frowned deeply, frustration evident in the crease of his brow. He drummed his fingers impatiently on the armrest of his chair. "Yeah, if Alastor's at Lucifer's house, it changes everything. We can't risk him ruining everything."
"We need to proceed carefully," Alastor's father replied calmly, taking a sip of his drink. "We'll still go to Lucifer's house. If Alastor's there too, we'll observe and assess the situation. We won't make any moves until we're certain he's not alone."
Vox nodded reluctantly, swirling his own drink now, lost in thought. "Fine. We'll go as planned. If it's not ideal, we'll wait for our chance. But we need to be cautious."
"Absolutely," Alastor's father agreed, his expression steely. "We can't afford to rush this. Our opportunity will come."
"But what if they catch on to us?" Vox pressed, his voice tinged with uncertainty.
Alastor's father chuckled softly, a predatory glint in his eyes. "Let them try. We're two steps ahead of them. They won't know what hit them."
Vox sighed, begrudgingly conceding to the new plan. "Alright, we'll proceed cautiously. But if things go sideways..."
"We'll adjust again," Alastor's father interjected confidently. "Remember, Vox, we have a goal to achieve. And nothing will stand in our way."
--
Alastor woke the next morning to the faint light streaming through his dorm room window, casting a gentle glow on the walls. He stretched, feeling a mixture of relief and lingering worry now that Lucifer was out of the hospital. Rolling out of bed, he went through his morning routine with practiced ease, finding comfort in the familiar tasks.
In the kitchen, Angel and Husk were already up, the smell of coffee mingling with the morning air. Angel hummed softly as he prepared breakfast, his movements graceful and precise. Husk leaned against the countertop, watching him with a small smirk.
