It had been a few days since Eve had left Lucifer's house, and Lucifer had noticed a change in her behavior. She no longer left early to visit Lilith, and there was a palpable tension in the air whenever they were together at work.

One evening, just after closing, Eve approached Lucifer with a look of determination on her face. "Lucifer, can we talk?"

Lucifer was taken aback but nodded. "Sure, Eve. What's going on?"

Eve glanced around to make sure they were alone and then led him to the back room. Once they were inside, she closed the door and turned to face him, her eyes already welling up with tears.

"Lucifer, I need to apologize," she began, her voice trembling. "I need to apologize for everything."

Lucifer's confusion deepened, but he remained silent, giving her the space to speak.

Eve's composure shattered, and she began to sob uncontrollably. "I'm so sorry, Lucifer. I can't believe I doubted you. I can't believe I accused you like that. It was so unfair, and I hurt you so much."

Lucifer took a step closer, his heart aching at the sight of her distress. "Eve, it's okay. I understand—"

"No, it's not okay!" Eve interrupted, her voice rising in her anguish. "You must have been so hurt when I snapped at you. I was so blind and angry. I didn't want to believe that Lilith could do something like that. But I was wrong."

Lucifer placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Eve, you were just trying to protect someone you love. It's natural."

Eve shook her head, tears streaming down her face. "But I was wrong, and you were right. Lilith... she did those things, didn't she? And you were the one who suffered because of it. I should have believed you. I should have trusted you."

Lucifer felt a lump in his throat as he watched Eve break down. He pulled her into a gentle embrace, offering what comfort he could. "It's okay, Eve. It's all in the past now."

Eve clung to him, her sobs muffled against his shoulder. "I'm so sorry, Lucifer. I don't know how you managed to keep going after everything. You must have been so hurt, so alone."

Lucifer's own eyes grew misty as he held her. "It was hard, but I had to be strong for Charlie."

Eve pulled back slightly, looking up at him with red-rimmed eyes. "I want to make it up to you, Lucifer. I want to help in any way I can."

Lucifer offered her a gentle smile. "Thank you, Eve. Your support means a lot to me."

Eve nodded, wiping her tears away. "I promise I'll do better. I'll be there for you, no matter what."

Alastor walked into the daycare center, the cheerful sounds of children playing filling the air. The vibrant decorations and warm atmosphere provided a stark contrast to the tension that had filled his days recently. He spotted Rosie near the entrance, talking to a few children. When she noticed him, her face lit up with a welcoming smile.

"Alastor!" she called out, making her way over to him. Her warm greeting caught the attention of several children, including Charlie, who was playing nearby with Vaggie and Octavia.

Charlie looked up, her eyes widening with delight. "Papa!" she squealed, abandoning her game and sprinting over to him. She wrapped her small arms around his leg in a tight hug, her face beaming with happiness.
