Sorry for the short chapter..

The next day dawned slowly, sunlight filtering through the curtains of Lucifer's house. The silence was heavy, a stark contrast to the usual hustle and bustle of their mornings. Today was the day Eve had told Lucifer to take off, and the weight of her words hung over him like a dark cloud.

Lucifer woke up early, his mind already racing with thoughts of the previous day's confrontation. He got up quietly, trying not to disturb Charlie, who was still asleep in her room. He moved through his morning routine mechanically, the usual spark of energy missing from his actions.

When Charlie finally woke up, she was surprised to find her father still at home. "Daddy, why aren't you at work?" she asked, rubbing her sleepy eyes.

Lucifer forced a smile, kneeling down to her level. "Daddy has a day off today, sweetie. So it's just you and me."

Charlie's face lit up with excitement. "Yay! We can play all day!"

Lucifer's smile wavered slightly. "Yes, we can," he said, ruffling her hair gently.

--

The hours seemed to crawl by as Lucifer tried to keep himself busy with Charlie. They played her favorite games, watched her favorite movies, and even baked cookies together. But no matter how hard he tried to stay engaged, his mind kept drifting back to his conversation with Eve.

Lucifer watched Charlie as she focused intently on decorating a cookie, her small hands carefully placing sprinkles on the icing. He couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt and worry. He wanted to protect her from the harsh realities of his situation, but the fear of losing his job and the tension with Eve weighed heavily on him.

During lunch, Charlie looked up from her sandwich. "Daddy, are you okay? You look sad."

Lucifer's heart ached at her perceptiveness. He reached out and gently squeezed her hand. "I'm okay, Charlie. Just thinking about some grown-up stuff."

Charlie nodded, accepting his answer for now, but Lucifer could see the concern in her eyes.

Alastor walked through the campus, trying to shake off the thoughts of the previous night. His first class was history with Mrs. Velvette. She was at her desk, completely absorbed by her phone. The students were left to fend for themselves. Alastor focused on his textbook, taking notes. He glanced around, half-expecting Chaz to approach, but Chaz was absent, which he found odd but not unwelcome.

Next was math with Mr. Stolas, a tall, imposing figure who made complex concepts understandable. Alastor appreciated his teaching style. As he worked through equations, he noticed Chaz in the back, uncharacteristically quiet and distant. Alastor found this odd but chose to focus on the lesson instead.

Science with Mr. Ozzie followed. Mr. Ozzie's lively personality made this class enjoyable. Today's experiment was engaging, and Alastor was fully immersed. Chaz was absent again, which was a relief, allowing Alastor to enjoy the subject without any disruptions.

Finally, it was time for French class with Mrs. Verosika. She was bossy and kept everyone on their toes. Alastor appreciated the chance to practice his French, focusing on the pronunciation exercises. Throughout the class, he realized that Chaz had not approached him at all during the day.

As the final bell rang, Alastor gathered his belongings and headed out. He couldn't help but think about Chaz's unusual behavior. Although it struck him as peculiar, he wasn't bothered by it. Chaz had always been a nuisance, and his absence today made the day smoother.

--

The next day, Lucifer was back at work, his nerves on edge. His hands trembled slightly as he adjusted the displays, and he flinched at sudden noises. His eyes darted around, as if expecting something to jump out at him. Eve watched him from a distance, her face a mix of concern and suspicion. To her, Lucifer's anxiety seemed like a sign of deceit or guilt.

Eve approached him during a quieter moment. "Hey, Lucifer. How are you holding up?"

Lucifer forced a smile. "I'm fine, Eve. Just a bit tired."

Eve studied him for a moment. "You seemed really shaken up the other day. Is everything okay?"

Lucifer hesitated, then nodded. "Yeah, just... it's been a lot to process."

Eve's eyes narrowed slightly, but she kept her tone light. "Do you have any family, Lucifer?"

Lucifer looked up, startled. "Yes, I have a daughter."

Eve's face lit up with excitement. "Oh, that's wonderful! I would love to meet her. Do you think I could come by after we close?"

Lucifer's anxiety spiked at the thought of Eve coming to his home. "Um, sure. That would be okay."

Eve smiled warmly. "Great! I'll be looking forward to it."

Lucifer managed a weak smile in return, but his mind was racing. The idea of Eve meeting Charlie filled him with dread. He continued his tasks, his hands shaking even more. Eve noticed but didn't say anything, interpreting his nervousness as further evidence of his supposed guilt.

Later in the day, Eve tried to engage Lucifer in conversation again, attempting to draw him out of his shell. "So, what's your daughter like? How old is she?"

Lucifer's expression softened at the mention of Charlie. "Her name is Charlie, and she's six. She's really bright and loves watching movies."

Eve's eyes sparkled with genuine interest. "She sounds adorable!"

Eve continued to chat with him, asking about his life and interests. Despite his anxiety, Lucifer found himself opening up a bit more, talking about Charlie and some of their favorite activities. It was a small comfort, but the looming visit still weighed heavily on his mind.

As the day drew to a close, Eve approached Lucifer one last time. "I'll follow you home after we close, okay?"

Lucifer nodded, trying to keep his composure. "Okay, see you then."

--

Eventually, Eve arrived at Lucifer's house, her curiosity barely contained. Lucifer opened the door and invited her in, his anxiety palpable. Charlie seemed to be in her room, and Lucifer gave Eve a polite smile. "I'll go get Charlie. Make yourself comfortable."

As Lucifer disappeared down the hallway, Eve took a moment to look around the living room. Her eyes fell on a picture frame lying face down on a side table. Curiosity got the better of her, and she picked it up.

Her breath caught in her throat as she stared at the photo. It was a picture of Lucifer and Lilith, smiling together. Eve's mind raced with the realization: Lilith did know Lucifer.

Before she could fully process this revelation, she heard Lucifer's footsteps returning. She quickly placed the picture back, ensuring it was in the same position.

Lucifer entered the room, holding Charlie's hand. "Eve, this is my daughter, Charlie. Charlie, this is my friend Eve."

Charlie smiled brightly, and Eve managed to return the smile, though her mind was still reeling. As she looked at Charlie more closely, her heart skipped a beat. The resemblance was undeniable.

Charlie looked exactly like a blend of Lucifer and Lilith
