Chapter Twenty Two

The tournament had gone on for almost a month now, Jace and I made bets with every match, Jace losing most of our bets, which made us very amused during the tournament. The tournament had lasted all day, leaving the second round for tomorrow. The winners from today's matches would be fighting amongst themselves until a winner was decided tomorrow.

Jace and I decided to have our evening meal in our chambers, having spent most of the time flirting with one another. Jace had told my hand maiden to fetch us our dinner while he closed the door behind her and locked it.

His lips were on mine instantly, desperation and lust clear in his movements. I undid the hooks of his leotard and pulled it from his body along with his shirt underneath. Jace undid the lace of my dress, pulling it roughly down my body before pushing me to the bed, undoing his trousers as I pulled my undergarments from myself.

If you need my assistance, please call me." She bowed her head and left. Jace closed the door and locked it. " You have scared Elina," I laughed. " She is the one who scared me!" He laughed." Who knows how long she stood outside and waited for us to finish.".

The next morning, Jace left me to bathe and dress with Elina so he could spend the morning with his brothers. " So, you two made quiet the noise last night," she smiled, making me laugh. " I was too busy being indulged in pleasure than to worry about that. I have been married a month now, Elina, and bedding my husband is a requirement.". " One you enjoy, I assume." She smiled. " Elina, I feel a bit dizzy. Could you call the master to my chambers. I wish for him to make me a tea to help.". " Of course, Princess, I'll send for him now.".

The master arrived as I was in my undergarments, " You sent for me, Princess?" The high maester asked as Ser Harrold closed the doors to my chamber. " Yes, I've felt dizzy and nauseous the last few days and wondered if there was something you could give me? A tea prehaps?" " Of course, Princess, could I be so bold as to check you first?". " Check me?" " Yes, to rule out anything. I'd rather be careful.". " Of course, maester.".

The maester had checked my pulse and breathing before asking me to lie on my bed and pull my skirts up. I did as I was told and took in a deep breath as two of his fingers were placed inside of me. " Ouch, that's tight.". I sighed, feeling pressure. The maester washed his hands as Elina helped me sit up. " I have wonderful news, Princess.". He smiled. " You are with child.". My eyes widened. " I'm what?", " You are carrying a babe, Princess. Your first child.". My hand fell to my stomach. " So quickly? I've only been wed a month.". " From my observations, Princess. I have seen you and Prince Jacaerys being quiet frequent in the bedroom. This is good, of course.".

I stared at him for a moment, shock taking over. " I'm carrying a babe." I cried, feeling scared and happy at the same time. " This is an emotional moment, Princess. I'm glad I could be the one to share this glorious news with you. Would you like me to inform the Queen?"." No, I would like to do so. Could you call for our families to the throne room, I wish to share the news with everyone." ." Of course, Princess, I will be there as well so I can make sure everyone knows it to be true.". The maester left as I cried, a smile on my face as I rubbed my flat stomach. " I'm with child.".
