Facing the Devil

"Open fire!" Jefferson ordered before shooting at the Ood that were approaching them. Once the Ood were down and gone, Celestia race back to the comms in a panic. 

"Charming? Charming, can you hear me?" she called out to the Doctor. "Charming, Ida, are you there?" she asked, pleading for a response from the Time Lord and/or woman. 

Rose ran over to her. "Check his stars." she told the star reader, who nodded her head rapidly before giving the comm to Rose, practically throwing it to her. 

Celestia opened the Doctor's stars, desperately trying to find out if he was alright and safe but then her vision went black and all she could feel was soaring pain, causing her to put her hands down and onto her face. She could hear the menacing voice laughing at her futile attempt to read the Doctor's star for answers, making her feel quite ill and bothered. "I'm being blocked." she told the young blonde, who looked at Celestia in despair and fear. 

"Open door 25." the computer announced to them as Jefferson and the rest of the guards prepared to shoot whoever was going to enter the room, but it was just a panicked Danny in a sweaty mess.

"It's me!" he shouted, putting his hands up. "But they're coming." he said before shutting close the door behind him with a loud thud. "It's the Ood. They've gone mad." he told the group, his eyes wide with fear.

"How many of them?" Jefferson asked him in a serious tone as he looked him over for any wounds or signs of whatever effected Toby. 

"All of them! All fifty!" Danny shouted in panic as he clutched his hair. 

"Danny, out of the way." Jefferson told him but Danny stood still, blocking the door. "Out of the way!" the man shouted, pushing Danny away from the door. 

"But they're armed!" Danny said, trying to prevent Jefferson from opening the door but the man just easily casted him aside. "It's the interface device. I don't know how, but they're using it as a weapon." he told them as Jefferson opened the door and a female guard aimed her gun at the door. 

Once the door was opened, the Ood in the front stook its globe onto the female guard's forehead, electrocuting her. The female guard screamed and collapsed dead onto the floor. Jefferson immediately began shooting at the incoming Oods, causing them to slow down. 

"Seal door 25. Seal door 24. Seal door 23." Danny shouted out commands as he backed away as far as possible from the Oods. Jefferson was able to shoot down all of the Oods while Rose attempted to contact the Doctor. Celestia was resting her eyes as she could not open them for longer than a minute due to the interference and the pain it brought her. 

"Jefferson, what's happening there?" Zach asked into the comm, his tone loud and full of worry. 

"I've got very little ammunition, sir." Jefferson informed him, checking the barrel of his gun. "How about you?" he asked him. 

"All I've got is a bolt gun." Zach told him with annoyance. "With er, all of one bolt. I could take out a grand total of one Ood. Fat lot of good that is." he said to him, scoffing at his horrible luck.

"Given the emergency I recommend strategy nine." Jefferson told Zach stonily. 

"Strategy Nine. Agreed." Zach said to him. "Right, we need to get everyone together. Celestia? Rose?" he called out to them. Celestia opened her eyes at the mention of her name, ignoring the burning pain. "What about Ida and the Doctor? Any word?" he asked the blondes. 

Rose lightly shook her head. "I can't get a reply. Just nothing. I keep trying, but it's..." 

"No, sorry, I'm fine." the Doctor's voice rang out, it was a bit staticky but audible. "Still here." he told them.
