Aegon's Pov,
Some Day's Later,
Standing outside of the DragonPitt I keep my head high, as today is my name day and lords and ladies from all over the realm have been coming to King's Landing for this day. I wish I could say I slept last night, but I didn't... I spend my night with Vermithor debating if we should just leave. But what kind of man would I be than? If I run from the thing my grandsire entrusted me with?Once I step into the DragonPitt everything will change, the boy I am right now will have to die for the man worthy of the Iron Throne to be born. Kill the boy and let the man be born. Hearing the doors open I step into the room as two rows of soldiers are being placed there with their swords into the air.
Walking through the line I hear the swords being put down behind me and with every step I take I wish I could take two back.
"It is your great good fortune and privilege to be here to witness this. A new day for our city. A new day for our realm. A new king to lead us. A day our grandsire knew would come when he named Aegon his heir!" Viserys loudly speaks as the place is just filled with thousands and thousands of people. From commoners to lords and ladies.
Slowly but surely making my way towards where the Septon stands with Viserys, Rhaenyra and the King's Guard I soon make my way up the steps. Hearing the gold cloaks march away I kneel down as the Septon steps forward with a small bowl of water.
"May the Warrior give him courage. May the Smith lend strength to his sword and shield. May the Father defend him in his need. May the Crone lift her shining lamp and light his way to wisdom." He speaks and with every sentence he dots some water on my forehead. As he steps away soon the crown is handed to him that he hands to Viserys who steps towards me.
"The crown of the Conqueror, passed down through generations." He says as he puts it on my head and I hate to say it, but it fits perfectly. Slowly standing up they all give me a small bow of their heads before the Septon speaks again."All hail His Grace, Aegon, Second of his Name, King of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm." He loudly says as I slowly turn around and soon the whole Dragon Pit erupts in roars from people cheering and clapping.
Turning around I let my eyes move over the large crowed before I hold my hand up making them slowly but surely quit down. "You all honor me by being here on this day, to share this moment with me. King Jaehearys named me his heir and for a long time I wished to be like him, but I will never be my grandsire. And he knew that I would never be him and yet he saw things in me that made him name me his heir! Now my goal is to make not just my grandsire proud, but all of you... that you all will be proud to call me your king, that I swear to you." I loudly speak and it makes the whole place fall into cheers and claps again.
............................
Walking into the small council room I have a smile on my face as I see them all standing there. "Your grace the fleet is ready to set sail." Lord Corlys says and I nod my head while walking over to Otto."Good we sail out in the morning I hope your wife and son are ready?" I say to him and he nods his head. "Your really willing to go at war with the Thriarchy?" Viserys says as I reach Otto and take the pin off of his jacket.
"I am, and Lord Otto the crown would wish to thank you for your years of service but they are no longer needed." I say as I step away from the man. "Otto has served the realm always with it's be-"
"And I am now King, brother. I can chose who sits on my council and who doesn't s Otto I will expect you to have left the Tower of the Hand in a Fortnight." I say and I see the man try his hardest not to have his jaw clench.
