Aegon's Pov,

A Fortnight Later.

"When do you think he will arrive? It feels like so long ago since we saw Daeron." Baela says and I nod my head. I've summoned Daeron back to King's Landing now with Viserys gone he can truly stay here....... he can be with his family.

"He'll be here by evening, he's flying here you know how he is.... how all of you are." I say and it makes Rhaena look down while I wrap my arm around her shoulder. "Rhaena you know what I told you more than once, if I got a golden dragon for every time I tell you that there is a dragon out there for you I would be richer than the bloody Lannister's." I say and she releases a heavy sigh.

"I know..... but I've been waiting for so long, what if I never get a dragon."

"But you will, for now you and your sisters go get ready...... we will have a dinner tonight as a family for the first time in a long time." I say as before I press a kiss against the top of her head. "Yes father, come on Baela we must get Helaena." She says and with that the two of them start to walk away while I turn to my new Master of Laws.

"Are you ready for it?"

"No." Aegon nervously says and it makes me chuckle. "Good, I never thought I would be ready to sit the Iron Throne and wear the Conqueror's crown now many years later it still sometimes feels like I am not ready for it."

"B-but you had a reign of peace, a reign where you have lifted King's Landing up. You did good things for Westeros and it's people..... how could we or I ever live up to that." He says and I walk over to him before taking grabbing his shoulders.

"Jaehaerys the Conciliator or the Wise, was my grandsire and the king who ruled before me and when he named me his heir I often told him that I would not be good enough to be king.......... Aemma Arryn heard the same from me for many years and they both told me that I didn't have to be like him I needed to be me and listen to my heart because they believed in me. I believe in you and all of your siblings Aegon, your all good kids and some say that the moment you get comfortable with the power you hold it will go wrong, you need to fear the power..... because with great power comes great responsibility." I say as my eyes are on his before I pull him into a hug.

"You are my son........ my firstborn son and I am proud of the man you are, and when you are king you will know what is best for Westeros and it's people and one day you will tell your children maybe the same what I'm going to tell you right now. We all make mistakes Aegon, what separates a good leader from a bad one is if you will stand there and get up with your men.... or lie in the dirt and let them fight your battles for you." I continue before placing a kiss on the top of his head.

"You don't have to kiss my head." He mumbles and I release a chuckle. "But I will, for probably many more years to come. And the day you will have children you will understand why I do it.... nothing is as strong as the love a father holds for his children, there are those who would put the whole realm to the torch for them."

...........................................

The sun has started to go down and the moon has been starting to get up and I've been overlooking the gates with a frown, Daeron he should have arrived by now. He's flying Tessarion from Old Town to here and the blue dragon should have been seen flying over King's Landing by now.

I've even sent Ser Arryk and Erryk to the Dragon Pit to look from him but so far nothing. It's no like anything could have happened, there are bloody escorts with him and everything.

"Open the gate! Open the gate!" Guards are yelling and soon they run towards the gates as they are being quickly openend and I see the 4 Hightower riders gallop in and it makes my frown only grow as I'm quick to start to walk away from the overlook and down towards the courtyard.

Why are they here and is Daeron nowhere to be seen. "He's here is he not? He's late but sometimes the journey takes longer." Alicent says as she sees me and I shake my head.

"He's not with them, and I have not seen Tessarion fly over the city." I say and it makes worry start to move through her eyes before she's quick to fall in pace with me as we almost run onto the courtyard.

"Where is he? Where is Daeron?" I ask them quickly as we make our way over to the riders. "Your grace... he came from the sky. W-we did not see him coming!"

"Who came from the sky! Where is Daeron Targaryen the one you were sworn to protect!" I almost yell at him and he looks down in shame and in..... in almost fear.

"H-he was attacked Your grace, The Dragon Caraxes came from the sky....." He starts and my breathing begins to increase..... h-he was attacked?! C-caraxes attacked Daeron. "They fought but the Blue Queen was too small forgive us..... Your Grace. Lord Daeron and his dragon they fell to Daemon and Caraxes."He almost says in a whisper and tears out of.... out of anger and grief start to well in my eyes as I clench my fists while suddenly almost ground shaking roars are being heard.

"No! N-no your lying where is he! W-where is my son!"

"F-forgive us My Lady, we tried but we could not even get close to the dragons." He says just before Vermithor lands on top of the walls and loudly roars making the horses run off and the men fall over while I'm quick to walk over to the Bronze Fury while I ignore the calls of Alicent.

H-he killed my son, h-he attacked a boy.... a young boy and killed him..... h-he's gone to far, and he will pay for this....... I will bring Fire and Blood to Daemon.... and his name will be erased from history for w-what he has done to... to my son.
