I wake up with my phone ringing constantly in my ears. I pick it up, and Maria starts to talk, it takes me a minute to come back to this world and sit straight.

"What did you say?" I say, letting a big yawn out.

"Rose, I said, we have to go to the pool party. Should I come pick you up or are you going to pick me up?" She asks

"I want to sleep" I said to her.

"God, Rose. Why are you always sleeping? Get ready quickly. I'll be there in ten minutes" and with that she hung up.

Okay, looks like I'm going to the pool party.

I get up and get dressed. I wear a sleeveless floral sundress. It's white with small pink flowers all over and a ribbon on front. I tie it up in a bow.

I do my skincare and put on some lipgloss and mascara. I admire myself in the mirror. My room door opens and Maria walks in.

"OMG, Rose. You look like a princess" she says, smiling at me.

I hug her. She's also wearing a dress. It's a yellow dress with half sleeves and ends at her knees. She's also wearing a white tote bag, which probably has her bathing suit.

We both make our way downstairs. I can hear mom and dad talking, and they stop talking when they see me.
That's weird.

"Mom, dad, I'm going with Maria to the pool party" I tell them.

"Okay honey, call us if you need anything and you look lovely" mom says

I smile and kiss both of them on cheeks and say goodbye.

We get out of car and go inside the mansion, Devin's house.

After few minutes everyone is in the pool. And I'm sitting on a pool lounge chair, the sun light stabbing every part of my skin. I hate it.

I regret coming here. Whenever there is a pool party, I just sit on the chair or either dip my legs into the pool. Because I can't swim.

When I was 10, Dad told me to learn swimming. I told him, no. Because I hate being wet, I cannot tolerate being wet.

The only kind of being wet I like is when I shower. I have a bathtub in my room but I don't use it. The feeling of stagnant water disgusts me.

So I don't know what I'm doing here, I took a book from the large book shelf in the living room of Devin's house but it's an old classic written in 1800s. I don't even understand it.

I put it on the table and make my way towards the swimming pool. I dip my legs in the water, lifting my dress so it doesn't get wet, the water is warm too. Are they all psychotic or what?

In this warm weather, they are swimming in warm water. They want to get boiled or what?

"Rose, the water is so nice, come inside. Try it for once" Maria says.

"No, I'm fine" I say to her.

One of the reasons I hate summer is this sweating, I don't understand how can people like summer.

I'm a winter girlie.

I look around and catch Liam staring at my thighs, I want to punch him.

Liam is one of Devin's friends. He is the type of guy no girl feels safe around.

I'm feeling super uncomfortable. I take out my legs from the water and stand up. I go inside the house.

I will never come to a pool party again, No matter how much Maria insists.

I sit on the couch and call dad.

Just then Luna comes and sit on my lap. I touch her soft white fur. She's the most adorable cat I've ever seen.

He picks up on the second ring. "Do you need anything, honey?"

"Dad, can you send Robert to pick me up?" I say to him.

"Sure, but is everything alright? Did someone say anything to you?" He says.

"No dad, I'm fine. I just want to go shopping"

"Okay, I'll send him" he says, I say goodbye and hung up.

I go outside again to wait for Robert.

"Why are you even here, if you don't like swimming?" Sadie asks.

"How is that your problem? This isn't your house. And I'm leaving anyway" I say to her.

She scoffs. "You're the biggest attention seeker I've ever seen"

"Don't worry, I will never be able to top you though" I say to her.

I hear a horn from outside and just start walking towards the main gate.

I get inside the car, and the day passes by quickly.

I did some shopping, and went home.

We all were watching a show on the big tv screen in our living room. Mom turned to me. "Rose, tomorrow Aunt Evelyn and Uncle Ross will come for dinner along with Devin"

"Okay, is there something special tomorrow?" I asked her.

Mom and Dad shared a look and I don't know why but it felt weird.

"No, nothing that special. Just dinner. Make sure to wear something nice" Dad said.
"Okay, I will" I said keeping my eyes on the screen.
