She had gotten burned really badly. I didn't say that to her but I saw her thighs. They were red and burned painfully.
When she cried out in pain in the kitchen my heart skipped a beat. I immediately dashed towards her, it was involuntary. I didn't even know what exactly happened, all I knew was that something happened to her.
My mind is filled with questions as I'm driving home. Who was telling the truth? Rose or Sadie.
Sadie is my friend, I know her. She would never hurt someone on purpose. Maybe Rose just misunderstood the situation.I know she cried in the bathroom. I didn't ask her but her eyes were slightly red. Was the pain that bad?
Of course it was. I saw her thighs, the burn was severe. I'm glad she went home immediately after attending the meeting without arguing.
I park the car and get out. I close the car door and walk towards the door of my house. I walk through the door and step into the living room. She is laying down on the couch, eyes closed.
Her chest is rising and falling, as she sleeps. She's wearing nothing but a loose t-shirt that's barely covering her black underwear. My eyes linger on the red skin of her thighs. My jaw tightens and I look away.
Luna is sitting on the coffee table, she makes her way towards me and I lean down to touch her on her head. A smile forms on my face as I pet my baby.
She walks away and I stand up straight, walking towards the stairs. I go upstairs and change into something comfortable. I get out of my bathroom and wipe my face with a towel. I toss it on the bed and grab a tube from the drawer. I walk out of my room and head back downstairs.
She's still sleeping and my eyes stops on her thighs again. I walk closer and sit on the coffee table, resting my elbows on my knees as I look down at her sleeping form.
My eyes stare at her face, observing her soft features. She looks so calm in her sleep as if she's the most innocent little thing in the world, as if she's not the complete opposite.
I catch the sight of her eyelashes fluttering in her sleep. The way her lips looks so flushed, so pink. The way her cheeks has a radiant glow, there's a tiny beauty mark right on her left cheekbone.
I never saw it before.I look at her lips again, there's another beauty mark on the right side of her chin. For some reason I scan her face to look if there are more. I notice another on her right cheekbone.
Three, Chin and cheekbones. My eyes moves on her forehead and how some strands of hair are falling there. I feel this weird urge to brush them away. I blink away the stupid thoughts and look down at my hands, the ointment tube.
I clench my jaw as I wonder what the hell am I doing? Why am I doing it? So what of she's burned? It's not my problem. I don't care.
I don't? Not even a little bit?
No, I don't.
