Why the hell was she blushing?
I saw that blush when we were dancing. I saw it.

She hates me then why? I find myself wondering as I drive back from the dinner.

I glance at her in the passenger seat and she's scrolling on her phone. I'm sure she hated that moment just as much as I did but then why I noticed that pink hue on her cheeks.

Maybe she just didn't like how close I was and wanted to push me away but she couldn't do that and in result her cheeks got red?
Yes, that makes sense.

I look back on the road and she puts her phone away. "It's good that we have made a deal with them." She says.

"Yeah" I nod, keeping my eyes on the road. I feel her glancing at my direction.

"Devin." She says my name and I look at her, raising an eyebrow. "Can I ask you something?"

I look back on the road. "What?"

She is silent for a moment and then speaks "How did you get my correct size for this dress?"

I glance at her, my eyes falls on the black dress she's wearing. It fits perfectly.

I look back on the road and speak "There was a girl in the store, she had the same figure as you." I keep my eyes on the road while she is looking at me. "I told that to the saleswoman and she gave me the correct size."

"And why did you get me this dress?"

I look at her. "Because you needed one, obviously." I look back at the road.

"Yeah but why this dress specifically?"
What is she trying to asks?

"I saw it on the mannequin." I keep my eyes on the road.

"And?" She asks and I look at her, annoyed. "And what?" I ask.

"I mean did you like it or what?" She asks.

I remember the moment when my eyes landed on this dress. It caught my attention I don't know why.

It looked beautiful to me.
But should I say that to her? That I got this dress because it looked beautiful?

Nah, I would rather die. Even the thought of that makes me want to die.

"I just saw it and brought it." I look back on the road. "There was no other reason."

The rest of the drive is quiet. I pull up in the driveway and get out. I go inside and she follows.
We both walk upstairs and get in our rooms.

I look up from the papers and Sadie walks into my office. She places my coffee in front of me. "Here's your coffee." She says and I nod.

After a moment she speaks "How did the dinner go yesterday?"

"It was fine." I look at her. "Rose got into a little trouble but we managed it."
