I park my car in their driveway and get out. I make my way inside and a smile immediately forms on my face as I see them.
"Hello, everyone." I walk closer and hug them all one by one.
"Where's your wife?" Aunt asks me and I shrug.
I will avoid her and don't care about her, I need to control myself and this stupid, unwanted attraction.
"Why did you come alone then?" Dad asks me.
Because I'm trying to avoid her.
"I'm here, she must be on the way." I'm avoiding or dodging questions like a professional. The main door opens and I look back as she walks in. She is wearing a cropped tweed jacket with a layered black skirt, a gold chain belt hanging loosely around her waist. My eyes linger there for moment before I look away.
I don't care.
She walks closer and greets them. We all sit down on the dining table for the breakfast. I take a sip of my coffee and try to ignore the urge to look at her, sitting just beside me.
"How is work going on?" Uncle asks.
She looks at me and I do too. I know she's thinking about telling them about our plan of making this a double collection. I nod and she looks back at her dad "we have decided something.."
She looks at me again as if telling me to continue. "We have decided to make it a double collection." I say.
"A double collection?" Dad raises an eyebrow.
"Yeah." I say. "First one will have twelve sets and the second one will have six sets, the second will be exclusive."
Dad and Uncle shares a look, smiling slightly. "Who's idea was it?" Dad asks.
I glance at her and she smiles. "It was her idea."
"I knew my daughter in law is talented as hell." Dad says and she smiles more, the sight almost makes me smile.
Almost.I look away. "And who's the vendor?" Uncle asks.
"Luke Grants." I say.
He nods and speaks "and how is-"
"I think there's a rule to not discuss work when we all are gathered together." Aunt cuts him off and Rose laughs.
I smile but it's because of the sound of her laughter. I've always hated that sound but what changed now? When did that sound become so beautiful?
No, I'm getting distracted by her again. I stop smiling and sigh.
"Yes, you both always talk about work and look now these two are becoming just like you." Mom agrees with aunt.
