It's my fifth cigarette of the night, it's the only thing keeping me from screaming at everyone here.

I want to burn everything including that metal around my finger. I leave the cigarette in my mouth and take out that stupid wedding band.

What the actual fuck.
Rose.

Her name is written on the inside of the ring.
I want to burn this ring even more now

"Devin" I hear mom's soft voice. "What are you doing here? The dinner is getting served, come and eat"

"I'm not hungry" I say without looking at her.

"You will be hungry if you put this out." She takes the cigarette and stomp on it. "Why did you take your ring off?"

"Whose idea was it to put her stupid name on this stupid ring?" I look at her.

"It was my idea and her ring also has your name, I think it's just so cute. She's such a sweet girl, you're lucky you got married to her."

I roll my eyes.
"Now, come and eat" She leaves.

And I put this freaking ring back on.
One year and I'll burn this shit.

All I'm doing right now is picking at my food, because I don't want to eat anything.
I either need a drink or another cigarette.

"I think, you both should start coming to sage from tomorrow" Dad says.
At least, he's saying something that isn't making me mad.

"That's sounds so fun" Rose says.
I sometimes wonder where does she get this much energy from.

"Also" Dad says eating his food, "I have something for you both"

He holds one side of his coat and try to find something in the inner pocket.
He takes out two pieces of paper.

"These are tickets to Italy, you both should go together" he says and I almost pull all my hairs out of my head.

Because what the hell, Italy is my second home.

When I was nine I fell really sick, mom had to take me to Italy for treatment, Dad stayed in England.

I got attached to Italy, it was peaceful there. Even though I missed dad, aunt and uncle alot, I was still happy there.

I came back a year later on Rose's eighth birthday.

Ever since then I visit Italy at least once a year. It's my peaceful place, I'm not taking her with me.

"Dad, what?" I say. "Are you kidding me?"

"I don't know what gave you that impression"

"Italy? Together? There is no way"

"Why?" He raises his eyebrows. "I think it's a good place for a honeymoon"

Rose chokes on water and starts coughing.

"Are you okay, honey?" Mom asks her.

"I'm fine" she says.

"Dad, I'm not going anywhere with her" I clench my jaw and my hands.

"Why?" Dad looks at me.

"I don't want to" I say.

"Devin, you are married now. You can at least try to make it work, even for just a year" he says in a low voice.

I can't argue anymore, FUCK.

"Okay then, you both will go to your trip to Italy next week." He smiles.

I roll my eyes and get up to leave because I can't fo this anymore.

"Are you coming?" I ask her only because we're in front of them.
Otherwise I would've left her alone.

"Yeah" she says.
