I come downstairs and see him sitting on the dining table, having breakfast.
I look away from him and go into the kitchen. I see a brand new oven there.
I come out of the kitchen and he stands up to leave. I don't glance at him as he leaves. I sit down on the dining table to have breakfast.
I'm still mad at him.
I was very worried about him last night but that doesn't mean I'm still not angry.I start drinking my tea. I prefer tea over coffee.
I don't hate coffee but I don't like it either. It's so bitter. My phone buzzes and I look at it.
There's a text from Maria."You free today??? Let's have lunch. I miss you."
"I miss you too. Sure, let's have lunch." I reply.
I finish my breakfast and stand up to leave to get to work.
❥❥❥❥
I get out of my car and enter the restaurant. I look around and see her sitting at one of the tables.
I walk towards her and she looks up from her phone. "Hey, babe." I smile at her.
"Hi!" She smiles and stands up to hug me. I hug her back. I'm seeing her after a while now, I've been so busy with work lately.
We both sit down and order our lunch. "So, How is work going on?" She asks and raises her eyebrows at me.
"It's fine. I'm working on the new collection."
"Rose, I'm asking about working with her.." She says and I realise she's talking about Sadie.
"Oh... it's fine, I guess.." I say.
"Come on, tell me everything." I sigh and tell her everything that has happened since she started working at Sage.
"He defended her?" She asks me as if she can't believe it. I nod and continue eating my lunch.
"I have no idea how you're tolerating her.." she takes a bite of her lunch and speak "Why was she acting like that?"
I shrug. "I have no idea."
When I first met Sadie she was already friends with Devin. I tried to befriend her too but she would be rude to me for no reason.
We never got along, so I've always ignored her and she had done the same but now that she works for my company, we're arguing more than we used to and I know it's probably going to get even worse.
"Let me tell you." She looks at me and says "Sadie likes Devin. Alot.
I sigh. "I know....it's obvious."
I don't care what she feels for him. It doesn't matter to me but what does matter is if he likes her too.
Oh my God, I don't even want to imagine that."And I hope you're mad at you husband.."
I look at her. "I am." I take a sip of my water.
"I am mad at him but-""But?" She looks at me and raises her eyebrows.
"I was worried about his burn, So I.."
"You what?"
I smile slightly and speak slowly "So I went to his room last night, while he was asleep."
She looks at me in slight disbelief. "Rose, you went to his room?" She let out a laugh. "Why would you do that?"
I roll my eyes and smile. "I was worried, okay? I just went to his room and applied some ointment on his hand."
She laughs again. "Aww, look at you. Being so worried about your man."
I get flustered and smile. "Shut up."
"And what would've happened if he had woken up and saw you putting cream on his hand in the middle of the freaking night." She laughs again.
"I was really quiet, okay?" I laugh with her.
"Oh my God, it's so strange to imagine you being so worried about him when I thought you hated him too." She says.
"Well, I don't." I look down at my lunch.
"Just don't be nice to him at all." She says, winking at me.
"Oh, I'm never nice to him." I look at her and smile.
That's true.
No matter how much I love him but I always call him out on his bullshit.
He makes me so mad all the time but I still love him.
