Becky slowly opened her eyes and the first thing that she felt was pain from her whole body, especially her head, and thirst, she feels like her throat was so dry like she hasn't drank anything for months.
Her sight gradually became clearer only to find herself in an unfamiliar room, staring at two female strangers, wide eyed, like they have been caught doing something bad.
The two quickly separated and scrambled like they didn't know what they should do. The taller one was the first to get her act together, asking the other girl to call their 'family' doctor, quick. To which the latter complied, exiting the room.
Becky tried to speak to ask something to drink. She's really really thirsty.
"W-water, please." She was actually very shy, as she has no idea who the other person is, but no one else is around.
The girl quickly got her some. Good thing a water dispenser is in the room. She then started started helping her up to sit and lean on the headboard before drinking.
Becky just finished drinking when the other woman arrived with an older lady, who Becky guesses is the doctor.
Oh. That was fast. Does the doctor stay in their house too? That's quite fancy. They might be rich. But who are they anyway? And why am I here? They don't even look Thai. Hmm...
Becky's thoughts were interrupted by the doctor who started checking on her, asking her a couple of questions while the two others stayed listening.
When the doctor finished her examination, she informed everyone that everything seems to be fine but Becky still has to be closely monitored for the time being, just to make sure.
After the doctor left, the smaller of the two girls sat on the chair beside Becky's bed and started introducing herself and her companion.
"Hi! I'm Jane. Jane de Leon. And the grumpy person beside me is my girlfriend/fiancée, Janella Salvador. I know you might be confused about what happened, who we are, and where we are right now, so let me tell you everything from the beginning." The girl started with a smile.
"I went to Thailand for a job 2 months ago when I saw you being hit by a car whose irresponsible driver ran off leaving you behind. I couldn't just leave you there so I decided to help you by taking you to the hospital. Unfortunately, you got into a coma, and I couldn't find any identification on you nor your family when I reported it the local police. I had to leave then because I have responsibilities at home and my work but I can't just abandon you there, so I kinda asked Janella to help me transport you to our country, so we can monitor you until you regain your consciousness and recuperate. So, now in our residence here in Manila, Philippines. But don't worry, we'll help you get home once you're finally okay."
Everything she heard was a lot to take in. Upon hearing the story, fragments of Becky's memories from the day of the accident started coming back to her, including everything that happened prior, making tears unconsciously fall from her eyes.
2 months. I've been in a coma for two months, not only that, I'm now miles away from my country. How are Jisoo and Freen? Oh my gosh. How is my little baby? Was she crying? Does she look for me? Is Freen taking care of their child well?
Too many questions started clouding up Becky's mind as she continued to cry her heart out missing the two most important people in her life.
The two other occupants of the room were alerted by this, worried that she might be feeling some pain.
"Uhm. Miss, are you alright." Janella asked, finally getting the girl's attention.
"No. No. I mean, yes. I'm alright. Nothing to worry about. I just missed my family. Btw, I'm Rebecca Patricia Armstrong. You guys can call me Becky. Everything you guys told me just kinda sunk in. But I still can't believe it. But I want to say thank you. Thank you very very much. I owe you guys my life. I could've died had you turned a blind eye. Thank you so much. I can't believe how big of a hassle I have been to both of you. You probably also have spent a lot of money, from the hospital fees to transporting me here. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. Sadly, I don't know how I can repay you, because I'm technically broke. I'm very very sorry." Becky said with all sincerity.
"Oh. No. No. No. Money is not an issue Becky, don't worry about it. And you owe us nothing. Anyone in our situation would've done the same. We're just happy that we can help you." Jane answered with a genuine smile.
When Becky continued apologizing Jane only joked that her fiancée is loaded so, it really is no problem, receiving an eye roll from the said girl and a chuckle from Becky. This kinda lightened the mood.
"You know what, if you really want to repay us for helping you, just get better. We only want you to be well. No pressure." Janella told her with a small smile that she returned.
God was really looking after her, because he sent her literal angels to save her from her misery. Becky thought.
Nevertheless, she still has a lot of pending life issues she has to face. But now, like her two new found friends asked of her, she has to fully recover her strength, so she can go back home. She misses her family. She misses Jisoo and Freen. She needs to see them again. Hopefully, soon.
