She stood up, straightening her dress one last time, and walked out of the hotel alone. The night air was cool against her skin, a stark contrast to the warmth she had hoped to find inside. With a heavy heart, Avika began her lonely walk back to hotel she was staying, her mind racing with unanswered questions and a sense of betrayal she couldn't shake.

She wrapped her hand against herself and shivered slightly and checked the time. It was almost midnight and been 5 hours since she is waiting for him. She dressed too carefully today in an attempt to impress Anirudh but. She walked to the park near the hotel she was staying and took place on the near by bench. She closed her eyes, cold breeze hitting her face. She released a long breathe which she was holding for don't know how long.

She hid her face in her palms finally letting her tears out. Her shoulders trembled with each sob, her breath hitching as she tried and failed to steady herself. Her face was streaked with tears, glistening trails that caught the light of the lamppost above her. Her eyes, red and swollen from crying, were wide with a mixture of sadness and disbelief.

She pressed her hands tighter against her face, her fingers clutching at her cheeks as if trying to hold herself together. Her cries were quiet but raw, filled with a pain that echoed in the empty park. Her hands moved to her chest, clutching at the fabric of her dress as if trying to soothe the ache in her heart. The cool night air did little to calm her; instead, it seemed to amplify her sense of loneliness.

She for once thought that maybe the kiss meant something, maybe that dance meant something, maybe those emotions in his eyes and action were real that day, maybe he is changing for good but thinking this only made her a fool in her own eyes. A big NO flashed right into her mind to all maybe.

And suddenly a strong determination entered her body. She knew he was doing this all so that he can run away from this marriage and Avika will not let this happen. She wiped her tears inhaling a strong breathe. 'Itni aasani sa mujhse chotkara toh nhi milega Mr.Chauhan'. She stood up dusting invisible dust from her dress, her posture firm.

"Not so easily Anirudh. You have to give to me the explanation" She says, her voice holding a different determination.

Anirudh pushed open the door to his dimly lit room, the hinges creaking in protest. The digital clock on his bedside table flashed 12:03 AM in a dull red glow. He dropped his keys on the counter, the metallic clatter echoing through the quiet room. His head throbbed with a mixture of exhaustion and regret.

He slumped onto the couch, running his hands through his hair in frustration. The memory of Avika's hopeful voice as she asked him to meet for dinner tonight haunted him. He had seen the message, read it a dozen times, and ignored it. His phone, still buzzing with missed calls and unread texts, lay abandoned on the coffee table.
