*Evie's P.O.V*
Auntie Donna had quickly become one of my favorite people. I think I was one of hers too seeing as she came to visit so often. She also held me a lot when she came, even though Angie tried to be stupid and mean and push me away.
"I do so enjoy holding you, it's a shame that I never get to do it anymore. That you've abandoned me and won't let me hold you anymore sweet little Evie," Mommy says, making me pout slightly at her. I did enjoy Mommy holding me...but this was Auntie Donna! She was my favoritest person in the world.
"Mommy, love you. Love you," I say as I blow a kiss to her, making her smile.
"Oh my darling, you make it so hard to focus on the meetings Donna and I have," Mommy says, making me frown.
"Meetings about me," I whisper with confusion, earning a small chuckle from Mommy even though I'm serious! It was true! Auntie Donna came to see me.
"You are so very cute and special but our meetings do not revolve around you. Sadly darling, we have to discuss things for Mother Miranda," Mommy says, making me bow my head as I pout. Mother Miranda just had to go and ruin everything!
I huff as I abandon Auntie Donna's lap, deciding that I no longer wanted to be here any longer. Auntie Donna lets out a small noise, almost sounding upset that I had left her lap.
"I go, find better people," I say as I quickly leave the room, making whatever Mommy was going to say die on her lips. I slip into the shadows, appearing in Dani's room. She's currently curled up, flipping through a book. I practically tackle her when I jump on the bed, nuzzling into her with a long sigh of contentment.
"Evie! What are you doing?" Dani asks, kissing the top of my head as she holds me close. I smile, showing my fangs slightly as I growl and cuddle into her. Dani runs her fingers through my hair, her other hand moving to touch my fangs. I nip at her fingers, giggling when she hisses back at me.
"Oh my little shadow, I have missed you. It seems like you have been so busy being Mother's favorite," Dani says, making me shrug my shoulders. I did like being Mommy's favorite. It meant that I got all of her attention.
"She boring, her meetings not about me," I sigh dramatically, rolling my eyes at the thought. I was supposed to be the center of attention, that was my life's goal! Didn't everyone know that...
"I know, must be so hard to not be the center of attention," Dani says, flicking my forehead. I whine, nipping her fingers with a small growl escaping me. I giggle when she pushes me off her, grabbing my ear and tugging on it.
I roll off her bed, falling onto the floor. I land on something, a small frown on my lips as I pull back to see what I landed on. I grab what it is, my frown turning into a smile when I see the marker.
"You have markers?!" I ask Dani, getting up as I stare at her. She nods and points at her desk, making me run over to it. I grab the markers, bringing them back to Dani as I plop onto her bed.
"Dani, wanna color on me?" I ask.
"I don't think I'm we should use you as a coloring book," Dani says, making me shrug my shoulders slightly. I pull my sleeves up, opening one of the markers and starting to scribble over my scars.
"Should you be doing that?" Dani asks.
"Makes them prettier, I like seeing all of the colors on them," I shrug, as if it's the simplest thing in the world. To everyone else it's not but to me it is. I grumble as Dani takes a marker, perking up when she starts drawing on my arm. I smile, happy that she was helping me decorate.
"Dani, I misseded you. More than Bebe and Cass," I say, my thumb slipping into my mouth as I just watch Dani draw on my arm. I don't really care about drawing anymore, it's just fun to watch Dani draw.
"I don't know how you came up with the nickname for Bela but she hates it," Dani comments.
"Shoulda gave me a name for her then. I let you and Cass picks yours, Bebe took too long," I explain as Dani colors in the cat she was drawing on my arm.
"That's because Bela isn't used to having a nickname, it was surprising that you wanted to give her one. Her name is only 4 letters long, she thinks that is short enough to not need a nickname," Dani explains.
"I can call her Bee. Maybe she would like that more," I say, my nose wrinkling up in thought. I shake my head after a moment, deciding that I don't like it after a moment.
"Doesn't match," I state, making Dani look at me curiously.
"What do you mean?" Dani asks.
"You and Cass have four letters, Bee only has 3. Not match," I explain, making her shrug her shoulders as she looks at me.
"Does that matter? You call Mother Mommy and that doesn't have four," Dani points out, making my eyes widen as I think about it.
"Mommy doesn't have 4, has to have four," I whisper, horrified at my mistakes. I blink at the wall, upset with my horrible, terrible, no good mistake.
"Evie, it doesn't have to match," Dani tries to say, making me shake my head as I morph into the shadows. I appear back in Mommy's office, making her look at me with surprise.
"Evie?" Mommy asks, reaching out to grab me.
"I can't call you Mommy! It doesn't match," I say, making Mommy look hurt for a second before she looks confused.
"What?" Mommy asks, still seeming confused as she draws me into her lap, holding me close. I couldn't explain it, my thoughts were too confusing but she just had to understand! She had to!
