*Evie's P.O.V*

I wake up feeling a little strange, my body aching. I whine, turning over to bury myself into Mama. However she's not there and I end up rolling off the bed. I hit the floor with a thud, the aches in my body getting worse. I close my eyes, pressing myself against the ground to try and relieve some of the pain. However it doesn't help in the slightest.

I hiss, trying to wrap my shadows around me in an effort to conceal myself. It works...kind of. My shadows bind around me, squeezing my body until my bones crack. I let out a cry of pain, the cry turning into a strange yowl. My eyes open and I'm so low to the ground that it's astonishing. It's like my eyes are maybe three inches off the ground. I blink slowly, looking back at my body.

All I see is a small length of black, white dotting paws...wait paws! I look down at myself, seeing more paws that also have white. I was an animal! What sort of witchcraft was this...I couldn't believe that I somehow was an animal.

I try to stand up, my muscles shaking from the sheer strength it takes me to even stand up. Plus it was weird to stand on what used to be my hands. On top of that my entire center of gravity sucked now. I try to walk forward, immediately falling over.

My legs sprawl out everywhere and I let out an annoyed noise that sounds horrific. I give up on trying to walk, deciding to just lay there until someone comes to find me. My sense of smell seems so much better, it's like all the scents are a million little bees stinging my nose. I sneeze, shaking my head as I try to clear my nose.

I hear buzzing, feeling things on top of my head flick towards the sound. I try to tilt my head back to look at what moved but I fail pretty epically and just end up falling over onto my side. I huff, watching as Bela forms in the room. My eyes track each individual fly, my eyes begging for one to close as one of my paws curls up

"Evie?" Bela asks, her eyes going to bed. I perk up, trying to get up so that she can see me.

"Bebe," I try to say, the noise becoming slightly strangled. It didn't sound at all like her nickname but she still looked at me.

"A..cat," Bela says, her nose wrinkling up. My feelings immediately get hurt at how she looked at me, my body shrinking in on itself at her reaction. She didn't like me anymore...I knew no one would like me for long. I turn my head away, feeling very upset.

"A cat that gets offended," Bela corrects herself as she moves closer. I try to take in her words, realizing that I'm a cat after she says it again. I was a cat! This was great news, I was one of the greatest creatures that had ever been created.

"A cat that gets offended and is laying in a pile of Evie's clothes and smells a lot like Evie," Bela says slowly, her eyes closing after a moment when I look at her.

"Evie, are you a cat?" Bela asks, making me smile. Or well I try to but I guess you can't really smile when you're a cat based on how Bela snorts when I try to. She was being so mean by laughing at me when I couldn't help it.

I let out a noise of annoyance, the sound kind of sounding like a meow and also a hiss. I was glad it sounded kind of like a hiss, it let Bela know just how annoyed I was with her. Bela ignores my hiss, scooping me up in her arms. I growl, something on my lower back flicking against me. I turn my head, seeing that I have a tail. I guess that makes sense since I am a cat but how dare it hit me!

"Mother is going to love this," Bela starts to swarm, stopping when one of my paws shoots out on its own accord and smacks one of the flies. She stares at me with shock before tightening her grip on me, deciding to walk with me in her arms. I lounge there, happy about the thought of seeing Mama.

Bela carries me all the way to the study. She doesn't bother to knock, carrying me into the room and plopping me down onto Mama's desk without a word. I stare at Mama, seeing how her golden eyes narrow at me slightly when one of my legs nearly kicks over a teacup. I let out a pathetic sounding meow, the noise instinctual as I try to distract her so that I can knock something off this super high up desk.

"Mother, Evie wanted to see you," Bela says, making Mama's eyes widen. My tail flicks again, the tip of it ending up in her tea. I let out a hiss as I try to roll away from it, nearly falling off the desk before Mama grabs me by the scruff and lifts me up. I bat at her face when she brings me up so that we're making eye contact, earning a raised eyebrow.

"Evie," Mama says, earning a noise of happiness from me. My body shakes with a vibration as I purr, trying to snuggle into her. Mama doesn't seem to want to let me cuddle with her though so I have no choice but to try and headbutt my head against her face for affection.

"Mother, why is she a cat?" Bela asks, seeming as confused as I feel.

"I have no idea," Mama says as she strokes her fingers through my fur, making me purr even more. I love how nice she is to me, it feels great how gentle she is with me.

"I believe this is going to require Mother Miranda's expertise," Mama says, making me throw myself off her lap after she says that. I hit the ground with a thud, upset she would ever do such a thing to me. Like mention that bird bitch!
