*Evie's P.O.V*
When I made it back to the Dimitrescu home, I ended up falling to my knees. I had never used my powers for so long and it had taken it's toll on my body. I could feel my shadows slip away from me, no longer being able to cloak me anymore. I ended up scaring a maid when I appeared out of nowhere and I heard her run off calling for Bela.
There was a high pitched buzzing noise that irritated my ears. I shook my head to try and clear away the noise, a small huff escaping me when it didn't die away. It was suddenly right next to me and I would have tried to bat it away if I had more energy. It died away right after that and I could feel someone standing next to me.
"Are you alright?" Daniela asked, her voice right next to my ear. I flinched away as I looked up at her, an annoyed look on my face.
"Step away please, I can hear very well and you are too loud to be standing next to me," I managed to say. Daniela frowned in confusion but took a couple steps back. I let out a sigh of relief as I rubbed my ears to clear the buzzing sound that seemed to be back. I knew it was probably the girls in fly form but I preferred to just call it the buzzing noise.
"Are you alright?" Daniela asked. I opened my mouth to respond and I suddenly found it very hard to talk. Perhaps I had lost more energy than I had thought.
"Used too much of my shadow powers, need blood," I said simply. Daniela nodded her head as she dispersed into fly form, darting down the hall. I wasn't so surprised that at the time she left that someone else formed in front of me. I was more surprised with the fact that it was Cassandra. I was not so surprised when Bela formed right after.
"You're weak," Cassandra whispered quietly. I opened my mouth to object to her rude words but she moved closer, sitting next to me as I subconsciously leaned into her. I realized belatedly that she was referring to how badly I was shaking, the weakness in my body. I also realized that she had purposefully whispered with how close she was as to not hurt my ears.
"Daniela went to get me blood," I muttered.
"You need more than blood," Cassandra muttered as she moved impossibly fast, lifting me up. I huffed at being cradled against her chest but I was far too weak to push her away.
"Bela, do we have an open room?" she asked. Bela seemed to take a moment to comprehend what Cassandra was asking.
"Yes, it is on the right side of the hall. Door next to yours," she said softly. Cassandra nodded and dispersed into flies, somehow still carrying me in her fly form. I closed my eyes as she zoomed down the hall. Where she went after that I couldn't see because my eyes were closed.
When I felt her finally reform, I opened my eyes and realized that we were in a hallway that I was not familiar with. It looked like all the other hallways but the doors that lined the hall were far more intricate and personal. Three of the doors had nameplates with the one saying Daniela being across from Bela and Cassandra's room being next to Bela. There was another room next to Cassandra's that didn't have a name plate. Across from it though was a room that just said Little on the nameplate.
"Never fly with me again," I managed to get out as I glared up at Cassandra. She laughed as she carried me into the room next to hers. It was clearly a bedroom but no one seemed to live in there. The bed looked untouched and Cassandra was very gentle when she set me down on the bed.
"I got you here didn't I?" she asked.
"Where even is here?" I asked.
"Private quarters," she smirked as she crawled onto the bed next to me, laying next to me.
"What are you doing?" I questioned.
"Laying with you, someone needs to stay with you until Mother is back," she stated.
"Why?" I asked.
"Do you ever stop asking questions?" Cassandra asked as she shook her head slightly. Daniela suddenly formed on the bed, coming down from above the bed. I hissed in surprise but she just giggled as she jumped up and down for a moment before landing on her knees, handing me a bag full of blood.
I took the bag of blood from her, hesitantly biting into it. The blood tasted fresh and was still warm so I pitied whatever maid may have caught her eye when she was trying to find blood. I drained the bag pretty quickly and by the time I was done my eyes couldn't stay open. I was just so tired from using my powers.
I woke up suddenly, realizing that I had fallen asleep after drinking the blood. I wanted to open my eyes but something told me to keep them shut. I reluctantly did so, forcing myself to hold still when a shadow fell over me.
"Poor dear, she still quivers," Lady Dimitrescu's voice was so soft that I almost didn't recognize it. I was surprised when something was pressed against my mouth but I could smell the blood that was right in front of my nose. I bit down, expecting to bite into a blood bag but instead bit down onto warm flesh.
I would have pulled away but the taste was so addicting. My eyes fluttered open and I realized that Lady Dimitrescu was allowing me to feed from her arm. She hummed even as I bit down harder, a small hiss escaping me when she moved.
"Easy dear," she said as her fingers worked their way through my hair. I continued to drink before slowly pulling away, the addicting taste trying to draw me back in. I settled back down, feeling the blood coursing through my veins. Lady Dimitrescu seemed to understand what I was going through and she just held me as I struggled against the heat that seemed to be in my bloodstream.
