Dog Days Are Over: Florence + The Machine
"Batman." I enter the Glee Club room.
"Robin." Sam clasps my hand.
I sit down and set my bag on the floor beside me. "Beast Boy."
"Raven." Brandon does our handshake with me.
"You guys have been saying that for the past week. Who are Beast Boy and Raven? What does that mean?" Brittany asks.
"They're Titan characters. Raven, Beast Boy, Starfire, Super Boy and Jason Todd." I tell her.
"Raven and Beast Boy date, but, we're flipping the script, obviously. We're making them BFFs." Brandon fist bumps me.
"Wait, can I be Raven? It sounds cool." Brittany smiles.
"So does Jason Todd. Whoever that dude is." Puck nods.
"Hold on." Brandon goes into his bag and pulls out his laptop. He shows everyone the Titan comic book character, also including Dove, Hawk, Wonder Girl, Deathstroke, Blackfire, Tim Drake and Brother Blood.
He chuckles. "Oh, I'm DeathStroke. Obviously."
"I'm Starfire, obviously." Rachel grins.
"I wanna be Dove." Quinn leans her fist against her cheek.
"I wanna be Raven." Tina smiles. "She looks awesome."
"Yeah, okay, Tina, you can have Raven, cause I'm totally Tim Drake." Brittany nods and I chuckle.
Mercedes flips her hair over her shoulder. "I'm Blackfire."
Mike nods. "I'm Hawk."
"Wonder Girl." Santana plays with her ponytail.
"Brother Blood sounds dope, yo." Artie throws up a peace sign.
I pull up the photo on Brandon's laptop. "Well, you know, Jason Todd is killed by the Joker, but is then brought back to life in the Lazarus Pit and becomes one of the most badass villains in the DC universe—Red Hood."
"Damn. Okay, I think I wanna be Red Hood."
"I think you mean me." Puck asserts.
"Actually, it's me." Brittany shrugs and we all chuckle.
"I didn't know you read comics." Rachel turns her head.
"I used to. My brother got me into them. He always read them to me when I got sick as a kid." Brandon leans back.
"I've always loved comics and superheroes, and all that stuff. I can't choose between Marvel and DC. It's like pitting Spider-Man and Superman against each other. You just can't pick one over the other." I shake my head.
