Say It to My Face: Madison Beer

"You're late." Mister Shue says as I stretch my legs on the bar with Brandon.

"I know. I overslept." Mercedes heads over.

"It's 4:30 in the afternoon." Quinn tells her.

"My alarm clock went off 30 minutes late this morning." She side glares her. "Kind of shifted my whole schedule." She whispers to Mister Shue and I stretch my back by bending myself half over. "Anyway, what's Santana doing here?"

"I've resworn my allegiance to the Glee Club without telling Coach Sue." Santana crosses her arms.

I swiftly pull myself up from the bar. "Mercedes, I'll catch you up."

"You're gonna break your spine, you know that?" Brandon tells me.

"Oh, you mean if I do this?" I do a back handspring. "And this?" I do a one handed handstand and slowly spread my legs apart. "And maybe...this?" I bend myself backwards and carefully land on my feet.

"Woah." Puck gapes.

"Nope, my spine feels pretty intact to me." I swing myself back and forth to stretch.

"Scoliosis, same difference." Brandon quips.

I scoff. "Not really. Scoliosis doesn't mean your spine is broken. Just crooked."

"Whatever, Doctor."

"Yeah, that's right. Doctor." I raise my eyebrows and use the bottom of my t-shirt to wipe my chin.

"Damn. Still got those nice abs." Tina looks at my stomach.

"You're making me blush, Tina. Now, c'mon." I let my shirt fall and lead Mercedes with me. "Five, six, seven." I nod to myself and we start dancing before Mercedes holds her stomach and turns to the garbage pail.

"Mercedes, you okay?" Mister Shue walks over with me.

"My stomach hurts. I think I'm gonna be sick." Mercedes chokes out.

"Why are you babying her?" Santana questions. "I mean, she can't do three steps without puking cause she ate at Quizno's before she showed up in this joint."

"Mister Shue, you have us scheduled to the second right now. With school, Glee Club and Booty Camp, when else am I supposed to eat?"

"When the rest of us do."

"Oh, like you eat!"

"Mercedes, it's not about eating. It's about attitude." I place my hand on her shoulder.

"Not all of us are blessed with a fast metabolism like you, Vi." Mercedes tells me. "And I don't mean you're too skinny, quite the opposite. You're perfect. Like a really good, healthy thin. You're more of an athlete than half of these guys at school."
