  Last Christmas: Wham!

"Hey, guys. What's this?" Mister Shue enters as we all decorate the Christmas tree.

"We're trying to get into the Christmas spirit, Mister Shue. Christmas is totally my favorite holiday." Finn tells him.

"And check out this awesome tree. I found it on the side of the road. It must have fell off some guy's car." Brandon adds.

"Any ornaments?" Mister Shue asks.

"The guy who lives next door finally killed off his elderly mother. When they carted him off, they left the house wide open, so..." Santana shrugs. "I think she was a holiday hoarder."

"And the presents?"

"I lifted them from a display at the mall. But don't worry, they're empty." Puck assures.

"Guys, I appreciate the effort, but this isn't what Christmas is supposed to be like." Mister Shue shakes his head.

Mercedes looks up at the tree "For us, it is. This tree is like a mascot for Glee Club. We won Sectionals two years in a row and according to everyone at this school, we still suck."

"I'm pretty sure they just added food coloring to real slush from the parking lot." Mike asserts.

"You can eat that, you know." Lauren tells him.

"No, you can't. It's contaminated. As snow falls to the ground, it absorbs pollutants, chemicals, dirt and feces." I correct.

She grimaces. "Ew. Really?"

"This joker right here was 14 years old and ate it on a dare." I nod to Brandon. "It had dog pee on it."

"My mom took me to the hospital, she thought I was gonna die." Brandon crosses his arms.

I snicker and the others chuckle. "Pictures were worth it though."

He nudges me. "Shut up."

"No. I am not gonna let you guys throw yourselves a pity party." Mister Shue sets down the small tree on the piano. "Look, I'm the first one to say that things haven't turned out exactly how I would have liked them to this year. But Christmas is all about being grateful for the things that did."

"I thought that was Thanksgiving." Puck says.

"And this year, Glee Club is gonna lend a hand to the McKinney-Vento Homeless Children and Youth Program right here in Lima."

"How are we gonna do that?" Rachel wonders.

"The only way we know how. By singing about it. We're gonna go classroom to classroom, caroling, to raise money for McKinney-Vento."
