Kenma pov ch. 1-
I've been playing with kuroo for what seems like my whole life. Since we were in elementary school kuroo's always asked me to set for him. He says the same three words every time with that dumb look in his eyes.

I know that if I didn't set for him he wouldn't actually be upset with me, but I can't help myself.
That stupid look he gives me, I've never been able to resist it.

The thoughts of how me and kuroo first met and started playing together ran through the back of my mind while I sealed the cereal box closed.
Slipping on both of my shoes I left the house, locking the door behind me and meeting with Kuroo to walk to school together.

"Hey kittyyy"
Kuroo waved obnoxiously at me before running over and messing up my hair.

"Really kuroo... I told you to stop calling me that. And also I just brushed my hair out."
Even though I said I hated when he called me that my face still heated up everytime he did.

"But your blushing kitten. And I know you always bring a brush with you to school."
He smirked and leaned into my face, our noses brushed against each other.
"If you don't like the nickname then what are you blushing for."

I could feel my face heating up more even though I tried to keep it in. I turned my face away quickly and start walking towards the school.
"Kuroo shut up and hurry up."
I threw my hood over my head and put my hands in my pockets.

"Oy oy kenma wait for meeee"
My heart started beating quicker, I don't know why but lately that's been happening to me a lot.
It only ever happens when I'm around kuroo.. it just randomly starts beating and I get this weird ass feeling in my stomach.

I sped up the pace to a faster walk just to tease kuroo.
"Kittennnn I said waitttt"

I shook my head in what I figured was just annoyance.
"You know kuroo every time you call me that I'm just gonna walk even faster."

I could practically feel him smirking from behind me.
"Oh is that right kitten."

My fast walk turned into a light jog. Unfortunately I'm too lazy to actually keep up that pace, and even if I was Kuroos faster than me. He caught up to me almost immediately and grabbed onto the band of my sweatpants.

He pulled at them turning me around to face him before he grabbed onto my waist and hoisted me up tossing me over his shoulder.
"Kuroo! Put me down you stupid rooster head!"

Another advantage he has over me.. he's tall and I'm short. Kuroo continued walking with me hoisted over his shoulder until we reached the campus.
"There, now I'll put you down kitten!"

I rolled my eyes as he held his hand out for a fist bump knowing damn well he wouldn't be getting one.
"Kuroo you're lucky I've yet to beat your ass... and I don't mean on the game because I already do that."

He chuckled before patting me on the head again.
"Yeah yeah, I'll see you at practice kitten."
Kuroo did his casual dumbass wink before walking off to his first class and I shook my head making my way to mines.

TIME SKIP - AFTER SCHOOL
——————————————

Practice was finally over for the day. It was the same old same old, run drills, condition, set for my teammates. Then the final part of the day comes, walking home with kuroo.

We're neighbors and he's been my closest friend for as long as I can remember so walking home together was always a given.

We met up outside of the gym and made our way back home.
I walked in silence per usual while kuroo rambled on about practice, things our team needed to work on before our next upcoming practice with karasuno.

We had made it to our places and I was about to dismiss myself before kuroo grabbed my hand quickly.
"Hey, I almost forgot to tell you kenma, we have a trip this weekend on a cruise with my parents."

I nodded my head.
"Oh- okay, does your mom need me to bring anything for the trip?"
It wasn't out of the ordinary for us to be going on trips together, no matter how big or small they were. I'd always gone with kuroos family and he'd always gone with mine.

"Nope, just yourself a few swim trunks and clothes and your smile."
I found myself blushing again, but this time it was much lighter than earlier.

Kuroo always found a way to snake snarky remarks into our conversations. I rolled my eyes at the comment before walking away.
"Bye kuroo."

"See you tomorrow kitten."
I was already exhausted so I didn't even bother replying to the 'kitten' remark this time. Instead i simply gave him the bird, which didn't seem to work since he just laughed and went inside his house.

I unlocked the door opening it and letting myself inside. I slipped my shoes off and left them at my normal spot as my mom was plating dinner.
"Kenma sweetie your home! How was school?"

I sat down at the table before giving her my usual response.
"Meh."

She slid over my plate of food to me before continuing to make hers.
"Same old same old huh. How about you and kuroo, how's that goinggg?"

I dropped my chop sticks out of pure shock.
"MOM! You can't just say things like that, you asked as if we were dating!"

She giggled and took her seat, eating a bite of her food.
"Alright alright. Although I don't suppose it'll be too long now until you are finally dating."

I rolled my eyes and finished my food before running upstairs to hop in the shower and go to bed. And when I say 'go to bed', I really mean stay up, contemplate life, and play video games till my eyes force themselves asleep.

TIME SKIP - SATURDAY
_____________________

I woke up groggily to kuroo's notifications blowing up my phone. My bag was already packed so i laid my head back down on my pillow. (I'll wake up in five.. The other two days went by much too quickly.) I thought back to the past few days of school and hard training before next week's meet with karasuno.

I could hear loud footsteps coming up to my door. (Well I guess my thoughts went by too quickly too.) Kuroo barged through my door before running up to the bed and jumping on me.
"KITTENNNNN ARE YOU READY?!"

I blushed at the nickname.
"Kuroo you've gotta stop calling me that.. But yeah, im ready."
He flashed his big annoying smile at me before grabbing my bag and pulling me downstairs.
"Kuroo wait- your moving too fast."

I looked down to our hands which were interlocked together. (Fuck.. if he doesn't let go soon I'm gonna start assuming things.)
Part of me had known for a while that I've had a... slight crush on kuroo, but the other part of me refuses to accept that and just loves him deeply as my best friend.

Before I knew it we had made it to the kitchen and I was slightly out of breath.
"Good Morning Mrs. kozume!"

My mom looked over at me and kuroo before smiling and leaning on the kitchen counter.
"Good morning kuroo!"
She eyed me up and down before talking again.
"Good morning kenma."
My mom looked down at our hands before winking at me making my face turn red.
"Have fun on the trip you two, just not too much fun okay, you'll tell me all about it when you get home kenma."

I walked over to hug my mom goodbye and turned back to see Kuroo with his head down a little bit, running his fingers through his hair, the same hair I've always wanted to try running my fingers through.
"Kuroo, ready?..."

He had seemingly snapped out of whatever little trance he was in.
"Yeah, let's get going ken."
